- Ethereum Classic (ETC) has been added to Google’s big data analytical platform
- A large number of programmers and developers will now have easy access to ETC data
- Ethereum Classic suffered a major double-spend attack in 2018
Ethereum Classic Data Added to Google’s BigQuery
Per sources close to the matter, DLT offering Ethereum Classic has been added to Google’s BigQuery platform. Addition to the BigQuery platform will enable developers and interested programmers to sift through ETC’s technical data without any hassle. Technology geeks will have the freedom to seamlessly explore ETC’s blockchain network.
The proponents of the cryptocurrency have been burning the midnight oil to revive the project after the infamous double-spend attack the ETC ecosystem suffered in 2018.
Per the close followers of the nascent industry, the Ethereum Classic network currently processes less than one percent of transaction volume processed by Bitcoin in a day.
Huge Impetus for the ETC Ecosystem
The Ethereum Classic community has been rather mum on the development front in recent times, and one can’t blame them. The network suffered a major double-spend attack in late 2018 which resulted in the theft of funds to the tune of millions of dollars. Major cryptocurrency exchanges including Coinbase were forced to stop interaction with the ETC blockchain immediately following the attack.
Speculations rose within the crypto community regarding the intent behind the attack. The hack attack was peculiar in nature in that it reorganized the already recorded blocks of data on the project’s blockchain network.
The community would want to forget the infamous cyber attack and looks to start 2019 afresh.
With the addition of Ethereum Classic’s blockchain network data to all the products of Google’s BigQuery, it is expected that technical experts interested in the project will flock to the publicly available data and look to implement it in real life cases in the form of decentralized applications (dApps), and others.
Moreover, availability of ETC data on Google’s BigQuery eliminates the extra layer of communication between startups working with ETC platform and the ETC development team. This would mean an increase in the rate of development of ETC-based businesses and fostering the adoption of the technology en masse.
