- In June, ARK officially registered as a cooperative society (SCIC) in France
- Several exchanges have chosen to list the token for trade
- Core blockchain components have been updated as well
ARK published a recap of all the June activities on their blog this week. The main highlights include registration as a Cooperative Society, or SCIC in France, partnership with ScanBlocks.io, DOBI exchange and Crypto.com listings as well as several major Ecosystem software updates.
ARK improving regulatory compliance in France
In June, ARK officially registered as a cooperative society (SCIC) in France, making it the first cryptocurrency-related project in the world to achieve this, as well as one of the first blockchain projects to partner with European Union. The team chose the French legal framework over alternatives in other EU countries.
Shortly after the registration, the project has appeared in Les Échos, the first daily French financial newspaper, giving it much-needed media coverage. Another positive ‘side effect’ of SCIC registration is the potential to improve the reputation and credibility of cryptocurrency market and blockchain technology both in France in particular and European Union as a whole.
Exchange listings and partnerships
Perhaps the most important announcement for the ARK ecosystem in June was ARK’s listing on the Crypto.com app. Thanks to this, users will now have one more way to purchase ARK tokens at their market price using bank transfers or credit cards.
Another exchange that listed ARK in June is DOBI. It was added to the Chinese exchange on June 10, 2019; at the time of writing, it is only possible to trade against BTC.
Yet another project that has added support for ARK in June is ScanBlocks.io – a platform that allows its users to calculate their passive income with real time fiat value at the time of block generation. At the time of writing, ARK is one of only seven cryptos to be supported by ScanBlocks.
ARK software updates
During June, different core code components received crucial updates:
- Core v2.4 was released, featuring over 47 000 new lines of code
- The new desktop wallet featuring various usability and cosmetic improvements was released
- Website v2 launch was announced, due to happen on July 9th
