- Brave has rolled out a new rewards program for creators
- Tweets can now receive tips from Brave users
- This is limited to the nightly desktop version for now
The Brave browser just keeps growing from strength to strength, even following the official launch of their Brave reward platform which gave users BAT tokens for viewing ads by official Brave advertisers. In line with their commitment to reward users for their attention and creations and to ensure that their advertisers get the best possible exposure, they have announced on May 23, 2019, that nightly desktop version users will get a chance to test out a new feature which allows users to tip tweets with Brave rewards.
The new rollout is yet another avenue through which creators on the Brave platform may be rewarded for their content and will help foster a greater sense of community among the millions of Brave users on the internet.
Taking Brave Strides
Brave is popular among users because it subverts the typical system of milking internet users for profit by either selling their personal information or bombarding them with various unwanted ads from a slew of advertisers. Instead, the browser is privacy-centric and users have to opt-in if they want to view ads and if they do view the ads, the will be rewarded with BAT tokens for their attention.
This new feature will focus mainly on the creators who will be tips for the content made using the Brave platform. For verified creators of Brave, they will instantly receive their tips but for unverified users, the tips will be held in their browser.
For users of our Nightly desktop version, we're testing a new feature for tipping tweets with Brave Rewards. Tips are sent instantly for those verified via https://t.co/D6FXJJtLwp (tips to unverified users are held in your browser). Feedback welcome via https://t.co/uy3BBRvLba. pic.twitter.com/pJhnPqgoiR

This new initiative is being tested out and Brave has asked users to give feedback via their website. For now, this is only available for nightly desktop version but it could be extended into other versions in the future as well.
A New Way to Advertise
Among many mainstream platforms, there is the ongoing controversy over whether or not content creators are properly rewarded for their content as well as content being stolen and reproduced without their consent. The Brave platform gets around this by letting creators get verified on their platform and allows them to receive rewards for their creations. While these creations are usually things such as video content, it seems tweets have now been added to the mix.
It is also an interesting rewards program that could be potentially be used outside Brave as Twitter is one of the biggest social media platforms in the world and creating a system of rewards around it could stimulate greater use.
