Brave (BAT), the cryptocurrency-powered web browser project focused on revolutionizing the world wide web by fostering privacy and rewarding internet users with BAT tokens for viewing ads and creating useful content, has revealed some exciting Brave features under development, via its latest ask-me-anything (AMA) session, according to a blog post on June 6, 2019.
Brave AMA with Jimmy Secretan
The Brave AMA series on popular social media network, Reddit, features various members of the B project, as well as projects that they have partnered or worked with.
In the latest AMA session featuring Jimmy Secretan, the Vice President of Services and Operations, fielded numerous pertinent question from Redditors, including what the primary objective of Brave is, the most exciting features the team is working on, as well as the 10-year projection of the project.
Interestingly, the AMA gave enthusiasts an opportunity to send in their suggestions concerning the Brave Ads program, including opt-in features that could make the project more exciting.
Secretan also revealed upcoming features still under development in the Brave Rewards ecosystem, including 2-way wallet functionality, integrating reward redemption for gift certificates offered by Tap and more.
(Opt-in) Ads coming to Europe in 2019
A reddit user with the moniker bananablocks asked Secretan what the grand mission of the project is and what boosts the morale of the team. In response, Secretan stated that:
“I think of Brave’s mission as providing the very best experience on the web, hands down. And a lot of things naturally follow from that. The best experience on the web should be fast and respect privacy. The best experience on the web should make ads a healthy part of the experience, not a burden. The best experience on the web should open up access to all the best content, in the way with the lowest possible friction.”
Reddit user EddyTarantulo asked Secretan when the team plans to start offering ads in Europe and across the globe. He also tried to find out whether the team would fix some of the minor bugs shortly.
In response, Secretan said that the Brave team is working round the clock to ensure ads go live in the rest of Europe later this year.
“We are tracking 20+ languages that we would want to deploy there. But the research team is putting in a lot of effort now to make those models easier to train and deploy. For Brave ad blocking causing site issues, while i know that the browser team is putting in a ton of time on new ways to ensure the best web compatibility.”
While Brave still has a long way to go before being the number web browser in the world, it’s worth noting that the project has achieved some significant milestones of late.
Earlier in May 2019, the Brave team announced that users of the latest Nightly build can now tip their favorite Twitter users with BAT.
The team has also hinted that Reddit users will soon be able to take advantage of the Brave tipping feature in the 0.68 version.
At press time, the price of BAT sits at $0.33, with a market capitalization of $427 million.
