According to April 11, 2019, report by Click The City, the VeChain Foundation’s NFC Chips are set to be used in a promotional initiative run by HBO and Singaporean sneaker designer SBTG on the occasion of the upcoming highly-anticipated season 8 of Game of Thrones.
VeChain Meets Game of Thrones
Singapore-based blockchain supply chain management firm VeChain is primed to get huge mainstream exposure, courtesy of their involvement in the production of four bespoke sneaker designs dedicated to the final season of the hugely popular TV show.
Singapore’s famous sneaker designer and home-grown talent, SBTG, has been tasked to design four pairs of not-for-sale sneakers dedicated to Game of Thrones by HBO Asia. The four pairs of custom-designed sneakers will be on display from April 17 to 30 at the Limited Edt Chamber Store, Singapore. To make things more exciting, fans of GoT can participate in a contest to stand a chance to win a pair of these fancy custom-designed sneakers. The contest will end on April 25, 2019.
The four pairs have something for pretty much all the fans of the critically acclaimed HBO TV Series. Three out of the four pairs are designed according to the family, color, and quotes from House Targaryen, House Stark, and House Lannister. The final pair has been given a chilly icy looking to pay homage to the Night King and his army of White Walkers.
Embedded VeChain NFC Chips
What’s relevant for the VET ecosystem is that these sneakers will be embedded with VeChain’s flagship Near-Field Communication (NFC) chips. These chips will help in proving the authenticity and legitimacy of each pair of sneakers through VeChainThor Blockchain.
As an icing on the cake, the embedded NFC chips will also contain exclusive behind-the-scenes videos of each sneaker design. These snippets can be viewed by anyone using the VeChain mobile app.
Of a truth, VeChain has been blazing the trail the past few weeks.
As reported by BR on April 10, 2019, rumors are running wild on the internet surrounding a potential partnership between VeChain and accounting giant Deloitte.
Further, the business synergy between VeChain and DNV GL has also turned a lot of heads within the VET ecosystem.
