- Australian digital currency exchange Bit Trade has launched an equity crowdfunding event to raise $3 million
- The $3 million will be used for Bit Trade’s growth and international expansion
Bit Trade, an Australian digital currency exchange, has launched an equity crowdfunding campaign with the aim of raising $3 million. The exchange is using the Equitise platform for the crowdfunding.
Supporting everyone from the curious to the serious
The platform can be used by both crypto newbies and serious investors. Equitise and Bit Trade are well positioned to capitalize on the growing regulation around crowdfunding. According to Bit Trade’s managing director and co-founder Jonathon Miller, Australians traded about $5.9 billion in digital currencies in 2017.
Miller has also shared his thoughts on this campaign, saying:
“At Bit Trade, we’re excited by the opportunity to help launch Australia’s premier gateway for the future of investment through the new asset class of smart securities. We’re passionate about building the next generation of wealth and we see that future being in cryptocurrencies.”
According to the director, there’s no better sign of the increasing appeal of digital currencies as the alternative asset class for investors in Australia.
“It doesn’t matter if you’re crypto curious or crypto serious, our platform’s accessible to both individuals and institutions and we’re really excited to be able to throw down the gauntlet and be the first Aussie digital exchange to open up our doors to everyday investors.”
Interest in Bitcoin will rise further
On the other hand, the co-founder of Equitise, Jonny Wilkinson, was quoted saying that interest in bitcoin is not dying down. In fact, Equitise is giving their investors an opportunity to become more involved in the cryptocurrency world by offering them foothold in these emerging industries. According to Wilkinson:
“This equity crowdfunding campaign is the first time in Australia that everyday investors can help shape the future of wealth by backing an innovative company like Bit Trade who are at the forefront of the smart securities market.”
Bit Trade even has an innovation lab and blockchain consultancy in house. These are being used to advise and develop software for different businesses which uses blockchain and distributed consensus systems. As per Miller, Bit Trade’s long-term strategy will be to diversify its revenue base, scale its platform and gain valuable customer insights into the daily trading habits of its users, in particular enterprise and institutions.
