- Users of Coinbase Earn can earn BAT by completing tasks and viewing educational content
- Brave Software has allocated $10 million for the initiative
- Brave looks towards a successful 2019
According to a blog post published February 6, 2019, Brave browser has partnered with US cryptocurrency exchange behemoth Coinbase to propel the use of their native digital currency, the Basic Attention Token (BAT).
Earn BAT by Completing Educational Tutorials
In a bid to make their native token BAT easier for masses to use and understand, Brave Software has entered into a strategic partnership with Coinbase Earn, a product by the Coinbase team that enables users to earn cryptocurrencies by viewing and completing educational tasks.
Per the blog post by Brave, $5 millions worth of BAT has been allocated for this initiative in which the entire amount of tokens will directly reach the users who partake in the Coinbase Earn opportunity.
People who have received an email invitation to participate in the Coinbase Earn BAT opportunity can visit the Earn BAT Page to earn up to $10 by completing basic educational tutorials.
Per sources close to the matter (link coinbase earn blog), other than viewing educational content pertaining to BAT, customers of the exchange also have the option to earn the token by using the Brave browser. The team at Coinbase Earn expects the initiative to encourage users and customers to delve deep into the world of cryptocurrencies by having first-hand experience in their native environments.
For people who haven’t received an invite yet, they can still join the waitlist to be notified about the next time an earning opportunity is open to the public. However, they must ensure that they have completed their KYC process and opted into marketing communications with Coinbase.
The utility of the Basic Attention Token
It won’t be a stretch to say that more than the majority of cryptocurrencies in the industry can be termed as shitcoins with no real use-cases that involve leveraging blockchain technology. However, when talking about BAT, that might not be the case.
BAT is one of the few digital currencies that have an actual utility in the real world that solves some of the problems of the internet economy. The long-term vision of BAT is to establish itself as the currency of the internet which can be traded and used for a myriad of purposes ranging from the incentive for quality content, payment for digital advertisers, and attention-based services on the BAT platform and the Brave browser.
Of a truth, Brave is one of the few projects out there which have been successful in carrying the positive momentum of 2018 into 2019. As reported by BlockchainReporter on January 29, 2019, Brave browser entered into a partnership with popular publishing website Cheddar to offer free content to its users for a limited period of time.
