A Japanese barbeque restaurant located in Osaka, has added Cardano (ADA) to its list of payment options and the restaurant is now organizing an event on June 22, 2019, to commemorate the exciting milestone, according to a Reddit post on May 26, 2019.
Cardano (ADA) Gets Adopted
Per sources close to the matter, Emurgo, one of the firms in charge of Cardano which is also the official commercial arm of the distributed ledger technology (DLT) project, has announced the adoption of ADA by an Osaka-based barbecue restaurant.
Specifically, Emurgo has revealed that through its help, Yakiniku Tamara will be accepting ADA payments in its restaurant.
Commenting on the matter, Kenji Tamura, a popular TV comedian who owns the restaurant reiterated that:
“I will do it! I do in the era when you can eat at Yakiniku with cryptocurrency. By all means please let’s celebrate the ADA payments introduction together!”
Reportedly, Tamura is a staunch cryptocurrency enthusiast who has been following the Cardano project as well as its native ADA altcoin for some time now.
To mark the launch of the ADA payment system, the team is looking to organize an event on June 22, 2019, at the “Carbon-fired grilled Tamura” Kiryu main store.
10 people will be invited to participate in the event through the lottery system, and the restaurant also plans to organize a giveaway event on Twitter, where contestants will stand a chance of winning exciting prizes which will be redeemed at the event.

At press time, Cardano (ADA) remains the 10th largest cryptocurrency in the world, with a market cap of $2.26 billion and a price of $0.087.
