- Netflix’s new documentary series will enable millions of people to understand altcoins better
- Netflix has interviewed several notable names in the cryptospace including Ethereum’s Vitalik Buterin
- Observers say the documentary could be the match that lights the fire for an altcoin bullrun
Netflix, an American media-services firm that makes it possible for users to watch movies and TV shows online or stream it straight to their internet-enabled devices, is set to release a new cryptocurrency documentary aimed at exploring altcoins. With Bitcoin market cap dominance having reached a multi year high, this could be the thing that swings the pendulum back toward altcoins.
Netflix taking altcoins to the masses
Per sources close to the matter, after several months of rumours and suspense, Netflix is finally set to unveil a new documentary featuring a vast array of distributed ledger technology virtual currencies.
Reportedly, several pictures of behind-the-scenes filming of the documentary, as well as interviews with crypto experts have been leaked already, suggesting the documentaries could soon be ready.
The episodes, which has been in the works since February this year could further fuel a massive bull run that will take back some market share for the altcoins.
“Our head of Charity @Robin_Matthes and industry legend @NetworksManager have been interviewed by #Netflix for a new documentary on the effects of #blockchain technology on finance, the third world, tech applications and more #bitcoin #crypto #cryptonews #HODL,” tweeted PACcoin earlier in February 2019.
Lighting the fire
Interestingly, PACcoin is not the only project that will benefit from the upcoming documentary, as Netflix has reportedly interviewed the founders of a good number of high profile cryptocurrencies.
Some of the people Netflix has talked to include Ethereum Co-Founder, Vitalik Buterin, Bitmain’s Jihan Wu, Justin Sun of TRON, Binance’s Yi He, Charles Hoskinson, VeChain Founder, Sunny Lu, Da Hongfei of Neo, Roger Ver and Jun Hasegawa, Founder of OmiseGo.
That’s not all, other blockchain projects such as Grecone, Plasma, Decentraland, Ripio, and Melonport will also be featured in the documentary.
At a time when the price of bitcoin is fast recovering from the winter of 2018, observers firmly believe that the Netflix documentary would have a positive impact on the crypto markets and potentially trigger another huge surge in the prices of cryptoassets, especially altcoins.
Though public awareness about bitcoin and altcoins is increasing with each passing day due to the borderless nature of virtual currencies, coupled with the growing institutional interests in the burgeoning digital assets class, Netflix’s plan to introduce cryptos to its nearly 150 million subscribers will definitely strengthen the cryptoverse significantly.
