- ChainIDE is the first IDE to support Move language
- IDEs make programming across chains easier
- ChainIDE will be the bridge between IOST and Libra
An online Integrated Development Environment (IDE) supporting the newly launched Libra cryptocurrency has been launched. The IDE will connect Facebook and IOST via a single click.
IOST and the Move programming language
According to an official blog post on June 26, 2019, ChainIDE has been developed by White Matrix, an IOST Partner Node and becomes the first online Integrated Development Environment to support ‘Move’, Libra’s newly developed programming language providing a secure and programmable foundation for the Libra blockchain. ChainIDE will enable developers to efficiently use the Move language and can also be used to develop smart contracts.
An Integrated Development Environment (IDE) is an application that facilitates application development. IDEs provide a graphical user interface (GUI) to assist users to write code, organize text groups, and automate programming redundancies. IDE helps users to build software applications with an integrated environment combined with all the required tools at hand.
Multilanguage support
The most common features of IDEs include debugging, version control and data structure browsing, which help a developer quickly execute actions without switching to other applications. Thus, it helps maximize productivity by providing similar user interfaces (UI) for related components and reduces the time taken to learn the language by supporting single or multiple languages.
An IDE, or Integrated Development Environment, enables programmers to merge the different aspects of writing a computer program. IDEs increase programmer productivity by combining common activities of writing software into a single application: editing source code, building executables, and debugging.
A victory for IOST
ChainIDE supports gaming and DeFi Dapps as well as all scenarios where smart contracts are needed. By supporting the Move language developed by its Partner Node, IOST is excited that the market has not only obtained a preliminary understanding of the Move language but sees a brighter future where ChainIDE becomes the bridge connecting IOST and Libra, with DApps transformation between the two blockchains realized in one click.
Since IOST’s online IDE has made it possible for IOST to connect with users of Facebook and Ethereum, cross-chain solutions between different public blockchains received more attention. With ChainIDE supporting Ethereum’s Solidity and Libra’s Move language, there will be an easier exchange of data between the three chains. IOST has used IDE to integrate itself into Libra ecosystem before other MainNets making it possible to enhance its brand presence among 2.7 Billion Facebook users.
