- The collaboration will enable High Mobility developers to build mobility apps that will be powered by IOTA’s Tangle
- High Mobility says developers will be able to create and test apps with its standardized connected car API on IOTA’s distributed ledger
- High Mobility’s CTO, Kevin Valdek says the partnership presents varied opportunities to both teams
High Mobility, a startup that’s focused on making it easy for users to build, test and publish app in conjunction with renowned car-makers, has joined forces with the IOTA Foundation, the creators of the MIOTA altcoin, to allow its developers to build new mobility apps based on IOTA’s Tangle, according to a Medium blog post on November 20, 2018.
The IOTA High Mobility Alliance
As stated in its press release, High Mobility has formed a strategic alliance with the IOTA Foundation to enable developers to create highly functional applications using High Mobility’s standardized connected car application programming interface (API) and IOTA’s Tangle network.
High Mobility firmly believes that the collaboration will significantly simplify the process of app development and will allow developers to formulate new types of mobility applications.
That’s not all; the firm says the launch of the first stage of the collaboration via a smart charging blueprint in the new IOTA Workspace will see developers build and test applications with High Mobility’s standardized connected car API on the IOTA blockchain platform.
Transforming IOTA’s Tech into Real World Apps
With the successful integration of both development communities, the High Mobility has hinted that the primary objective of the alliance is to translate the value of IOTA’s open source distributed ledger into highly functional, real-world connected car applications, starting with the charging blueprint.
Commenting on the development, the CTO of High Mobility, Kevin Valdek said that he expects the bringing together of both developer communities and their technologies to open several doors of opportunities.
“With IOTA’s distributed ledger and the team’s vision for future mobility, we will see it being applied by a vast array of new services, as the type of applications that can be enabled with IOTA’s blockchain and vehicle data are numerous,” he concluded.
In spite of the controversies and criticisms that has come the way of the IOTA project in recent times, it appears the team remains determined to keep forging ahead.
As reported by Blockchain Reporter on November 8, 2018, carVertical announced the launch of its new app, carVertical.CITY, an automatic car parking platform powered by IOTA’s Tangle technology.
