- IOTA looks to a promising 2019
A Tweet by Odyssey, the world’s largest blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI), and Internet of Things (IoT) hackathon, posted on January 11, 2019, states the community has entered into a partnership with IOTA. The official announcement was made by IOTA co-founder, Dominik Schiener.
What does the collaboration mean for the IOTA Universe?
The IOTA Foundation looks to carry over the positive momentum it possessed in 2018. The recent partnership with crypto storage AG, announced on January 9, 2019, is a testimony to that.
However, the newly-formed collaboration with Odyssey will have its own share of implications for IOTA. Odyssey is slated to host the third edition of the biggest blockchain, AI, and IoT hackathon in the Netherlands this year. The event is specifically aimed at developers, entrepreneurs, and other tech-savvy individuals.
The allegiance will provide a greater window of opportunity for developers to work on IOTA’s technology-based solutions. The congregation of tech enthusiasts at the hackathon will look to overcome certain challenges within the current ecosystem through open source solutions.
Notably, IOTA will be supporting teams at the hackathon with two of their own experts.
IOTA Looks to Blaze the Trail in 2019
While 2018 proved to be a rollercoaster ride for virtually all the cryptocurrency projects, 2019 could prove to be a more stable year in terms of price.
The consolidation of the market and less volatility might prove to be a blessing for the industry, as it gives enough room and time to the developers to effectively translate their ideas into working products and services. This narrative could very well be extended to IOTA.
The IOTA Foundation has entered into a slew of high-profile partnerships in recent times. BlockchainReporter informed its readers on January 9, 2019, about IOTA’S partnership with the IBCS Group to foster Tangle-based solutions for the supply chain industry.
The community released CHAT.ixi on January 4, 2019. CHAT.ixi is a permissionless chat app based on IOTA’s Tangle.
With regard to big fishes, the organization had a couple of developments with the likes of Bosch and Audi.
On January 1, 2019, Bosch launched XD2MAM; a bridge to link Bosch’s XDK and IOTA for Internet of Things-based projects.
