Professional sport leagues are great for business whether it’s merchandise or a cryptocurrency. Litecoin, one of the top 10 coins in the cryptocurrency realm announced today that GLORY the premier kickboxing league will join hands with the Litecoin foundation to promote the cryptocurrency as well as allow customers to use Litecoin as a payment option in their shops.
Special offers for crypto holders
The announcement was made on the GLORY kickboxing website and on the Litecoin foundation’s twitter handle. The tweet stated:
“Excited to announce a new partnership with @Glory_WS that will see #litecoin becoming the official cryptocurrency of the world’s premier kickboxing organization.”
The company also will be offering users various special offers including athlete meet-and-greets, back stage arena tours and premium in-arena seating if they choose to use Litecoin as a mode of payment on the official GLORY merchandise store and GLORY will also be promoting Litecoin and its uses through various events and social media handles. This will also make GLORY the first ever sports league to utilise Litecoin. Charlie Lee, founder of the Litecoin foundation said:
“GLORY has a growing worldwide fan base that consists in large part of a younger demographic who are early adopters of technology and conduct much of their lives online – from consuming content to purchase products.”
GLORY CEO Marshall Zelenik, talked about this partnership:
“A partnership with Litecoin, which offers one of the fastest transaction confirmation speeds of any cryptocurrency, makes perfect sense for GLORY and our fans as we put on the fastest fight action in the combat sports world.”
“With both the companies also being young, dynamic and achieving consistent year-on-year growth, GLORY could not have found a more fitting cryptocurrency partner.”
Mass adoption, one partnership at a time
As previous reported by Blockchain Reporter, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), the world’s leading martial arts organization, also partnered with Litecoin during the UFC 232 broadcast last December. The event was sponsored by the Litecoin foundation and was marked on of the very first events where a cryptocurrency based company was backing such a major sporting event. These recent events have brought Litecoin further into the public consciousness.
This isn’t the only major partnership Litecoin has been involved in. Recently the foundation also secured a partnership with major car manufacturer Subaru. Users can now buy Subaru at any Bob Moore Auto Group dealerships with Litecoin. These partnerships play a vital role in bringing cryptocurrency to the people and making the masses more aware. Mass adoption is still a long way to go but it has been a great start for not only Litecoin but the entire cryptocurrency industry as a whole.
