Renji Hospital’s inclusion in the initiative means that other agents of the initiative will be able to pay for Renji’s world-class medical services with carbon credits. The blog post mentions that the digital carbon initiative is still open to changes and this is just one of the many of its use-cases that could have a widespread impact on the society.
Knut Roald Sørlie, Commercial Counsellor at the Royal Norwegian Embassy shared his thoughts on the newly christened partnership between Renji Hospital and DNV GL and VeChain. Sørlie termed the development “another major milestone” in the cooperation between Norway and China in the field of health care.
For the uninitiated, the Digital Carbon Ecosystem is an initiative taken keeping in mind the United Nation’s sustainability goals. Sørlie added that it is the first program he’s ever seen which allows a medical institution to address climate change in adopting systematic carbon reduction measures.
Norway in a Box Joins VeChain Ecosystem
The day was also marked by the announcement from Norwegian product platform, Norway in a Box, that their products would go live on BrightCode. BrightCode is a blockchain-powered ecosystem built upon VeChain’s blockchain-as-a-service (BaaS) platform – VeChain ToolChain.
Espen Strand Pedersen, CEO of Norway in a Box, said:
“I’m excited and honored to be a partner of DNV GL, and VeChain, and have our products on the Bright Code platform. In around two weeks, the first batch of blockchain-empowered Norwegian salmon will be delivered to China. We’re looking forward to its arrival.”
VeChain Continues to Stride Ahead without Making Much Noise
