The Aptos community is filled with bullish excitement as Aptos (APT) tokens have surged by a whopping 15% in the last 24 hours. And what’s the catalyst behind this sudden spike? None other than a freshly-inked partnership with tech giant Microsoft! With such an influential collaboration, it is the time to declare the bullish era for APT token.
Microsoft Shares AI Technology With Aptos Labs
Artificial intelligence has become a hotspot of interest and investment in the tech world. Given Microsoft’s multiple engagements in the AI sector, it’s only fitting they seek to broaden their influence in this sector. This Wednesday, Microsoft unveiled its collaboration with layer-1 blockchain enterprise, Aptos Labs, aiming to explore new frontiers in AI and web3.
Mo Shaikh, the co-founder and CEO of Aptos Labs, informed that the main priority for both companies is addressing challenges in their respective sectors.
Shaikh elaborated that the partnership would enable Microsoft’s AI models to be trained using verified data from Aptos’ blockchain. Additionally, Aptos plans to operate validator nodes for its blockchain on Microsoft’s Azure cloud, expecting this move to enhance the reliability and security of its service.
On Microsoft’s end, Daniel An, the global director of business development for AI and web3, expressed their forward-looking vision, suggesting that they foresee AI becoming more integrated into web3 solutions at a larger scale in the forthcoming months and years.
Leveraging Microsoft’s AI technology, Aptos has announced the debut of Aptos Assistant, a digital aide described as both “user-friendly and secure”, designed to address queries related to the Aptos blockchain. Aptos’ mainnet, which was eagerly awaited by many, was successfully launched the previous year.
Both firms have mutually decided to dive deeper into blockchain-driven financial service solutions. This exploration includes aspects like asset tokenization, varied payment methods, and central bank digital currencies (CBDC), aiming to broaden the applications of blockchain.
Microsoft Accelerates Its AI Efforts: Big Win For Aptos
A representative from Aptos said, “This is a collaboration from day one. Aptos Labs’ team of AI experts, PhDs and Web3 developers are working directly with Microsoft’s AI team to train models, integrate AI technology into the Aptos Assistant and Github elements integrating with Aptos’ blockchain, and determine the best resources for developers and casual visitors who want to learn more about building on Aptos – or ask questions about the Aptos ecosystem, more broadly.”
Earlier in the year, Microsoft made a significant move in the AI domain by investing $10 billion in OpenAI, the brains behind ChatGPT. Rashmi Misra, Microsoft’s general manager of AI & emerging technologies, said, “By fusing Aptos Labs’ technology with the Microsoft Azure Open AI Service capabilities, we aim to democratize the use of blockchain enabling users to seamlessly onboard to web3 and innovators to develop new exciting decentralized applications using AI.”
Shaikh mentioned that Microsoft seeks reliable and verifiable data sources for training its models, and that’s where Aptos can provide value. He emphasized the need for a high-performing blockchain with significant throughput to achieve this.
Highlighting the capabilities of Aptos’ blockchain, Shaikh stated that it can manage up to 160,000 transactions per second. They aim to enhance this capacity to handle “several hundreds of thousands” by the year’s end. Messari research identifies it as one of the swiftest blockchain networks, comparable to Avalanche, boasting a time-to-finality of under one second.
Considering its rapid throughput, prompt transaction settlements, and a minimal usage cost, Aptos’ blockchain encompasses the trio of features that could appeal to major tech giants eager to develop AI-centric offerings — companies like Microsoft.
Following the news, the Aptos token broke above the consolidation of $7 and touched a high near $7.92. It is currently trading at $7.7, surging over 16.2% in the last few minutes.
