Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has acquired a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) license from Bulgaria’s National Revenue Agency. This development allows Bitget to offer various crypto-related services, including trading, transfers, custody, public offering of digital assets, and wallet services within the country. The license aligns with Bitget goal to expand its regulatory presence in Europe and secure approval under the European Union Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework.
The VASP license is a key step in Bitget’s strategy to expand its presence across the European Union. As part of its strategic expansion Bitget actively works toward following the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework to establish uniform crypto regulations in the region.
Bitget Strategic Expansion and EU Regulatory Compliance
According to Bitget’s Chief Legal Officer Hon Ng the VASP license acquisition matches the trading platform’s European regulatory expansion initiative. He noted that Bulgaria is a strategic entry point for Bitget’s expansion due to its growing crypto-friendly ecosystem.
The exchange actively works to satisfy all requirements established by EU regulatory authorities. The trading platform Bitget acquired operational permits to operate in key European countries, including Poland, Italy, Lithuania, and the UK. The company works to provide services that align with EU regulatory changes as it grows its user base in the digital asset space.
Commitment to Compliance and User Trust
The exchange is dedicated to regulatory compliance because it establishes trustworthy markets and user trust. The company works to connect its business activities with upcoming laws to maintain continuous growth and protect its users’ secure digital asset exchange operations.
The recent licensing achievement in Bulgaria adds to a series of approvals obtained by Bitget in multiple jurisdictions. In the past three months, the exchange secured a BSP license in El Salvador and received approval in the UK to provide digital asset services. The exchange platform Bitget earned recognition from Forbes for being one of its most trustworthy exchanges demonstrating its position as a reliable cryptocurrency platform.
Bitget aims to partner with European regulators to strengthen compliance measures through which its products and services will meet every regulatory requirement while offering secure and transparent trading conditions.
