Byreal, the Solana-native decentralized exchange incubated by crypto exchange Bybit, rolled out a major suite of platform upgrades this week designed to lower the cost of market-making and make liquidity farming more social and accessible. The overhaul, which combines a core smart-contract improvement, performance optimizations, a new portfolio dashboard, and an expanded social referral system for its Real Farmer product, aims to make on-chain liquidity provision cheaper, faster and easier to copy for ordinary users.
At the heart of the update is a technical change to Byreal’s concentrated liquidity market maker (CLMM): the introduction of Dynamic Tick Arrays. Instead of initializing ticks in expensive bulk operations, the platform now creates ticks on demand. According to the team, that change cuts the on-chain cost of opening an LP position by roughly 95%, a reduction that dramatically lowers the entry barrier for smaller liquidity providers and could meaningfully widen participation across the DEX.
The timing of the release follows a strong early run for Byreal since its full public launch in October. The platform has moved quickly up Solana’s DEX leaderboard, posting more than $830 million in cumulative trading volume and ranking among the top DEXs by 30-day fees and revenue metrics, evidence, the team says, that its hybrid approach to on-chain liquidity is resonating with users. Byreal has also broadened its ecosystem footprint, working with more than 40 partners spanning real-world assets, AI, infrastructure, consumer applications and DeFi, and has plugged into tokenized equity flows as a day-one partner with xStocks.
Beyond the gas and fee savings, the release brings tangible usability improvements. A redesigned Portfolio Dashboard centralizes LP asset management and performance tracking, giving providers a clear view of real-time and cumulative PnL, accumulated and unclaimed fees, and extra revenue lines such as Copy Bonus rewards. Coupled with backend optimizations that the team says speed up trade execution and position syncing, the upgrades are pitched as a cohesive effort to make the on-chain trading experience feel smoother and lower-latency.
Byreal Accelerates On-Chain Market Making
Real Farmer, Byreal’s social liquidity mining product, received particular attention in the update. Launched earlier as a one-click copy-farming tool, Real Farmer now supports a social referral feature that allows users to share and replicate top LP strategies and earn referral incentives when their invitees copy strategies, add liquidity, or produce trading fees. The program is explicitly designed to turn yield farming from an individual activity into a community play, with referral incentives that can boost liquidity position rewards. The Real Farmer expansion debuted at Bybit’s Crypto Content Creator Campus and is backed by several Solana partners.
“Byreal is committed to perfecting the on-chain experience for every trader. Our recent upgrades serve to deepen Byreal’s decentralized liquidity infrastructure within the Solana ecosystem,” said Emily Bao, Head of Spot at Bybit and Founder of Byreal. “We’re accelerating our development of decentralized liquidity infrastructure to provide users with a more efficient and transparent on-chain market-making and trading experience,” she added.
Taken together, the changes reflect a deliberate push to address two long-standing frictions in DeFi: cost and complexity. High on-chain costs can make concentrated liquidity products unattractive to all but the largest LPs, while the technical steps required to run successful liquidity strategies have historically excluded less experienced users.
Byreal’s Dynamic Tick Array reduces the former, while Real Farmer’s copy and referral mechanics tackle the latter by packaging experienced LP behavior into one-click strategies that are sharable and monetizable. Industry observers will watch whether the cost savings translate into deeper order books and reduced slippage for traders, and whether social features meaningfully increase stickiness and TVL.
For now, Byreal is betting that lowering the financial and technical hurdles to liquidity provision will enlarge its pool of active LPs and entrench its role as a low-friction liquidity layer within Solana’s growing DeFi landscape. Byreal remains positioned as an experiment in bringing centralized exchange liquidity philosophies on chain while preserving DeFi transparency. With the latest upgrades live, the team says it will continue iterating on infrastructure and product features to further reduce cost, improve performance and expand social uses of liquidity mining across the Solana ecosystem.
