- The recent growth represents 19% adoption rate
- Content creators have increased by 12x
- BAT could soon be a force to reckon with
The privacy-focused Brave browser has finally surpassed 10 million active users. The browser has experienced vigorous user growth with the addition of 1.7 million new active users in the last three weeks alone.
Users Doubled Within a Year
The development team of the Brave browser announced an official press release on December 5, 2019, saying it grew from 8.7 million active users in October 2019 to 10.4 million active monthly users at the end of November 2019. The growth represents a 19% adoption increase across all the platforms, meaning that its monthly active users have doubled within a year.
Brave offers a blockchain-based browser besides its digital advertising platform, the Basic Attention Token (BAT) that promises users a browsing experience that is 3-6xs faster than other browsers like Mozilla’s Firefox or Google’s Chrome. Since the release of Brave 1.0 last November 13, 2019, the browser has experienced a surge in adoption and plenty of positive reviews.
Verified Content Creators Increased to 340,000
The release of the updated Brave 1.0 that introduced the brave reward system to iPhone users have enhanced the App’s growth in the last one month while active users have increased threefold to 3.3 million in the previous 12 months.
Apart from the general users, Brave also saw the increase of its verified content creators bringing in a total of 340,000 members between platforms like YouTube, Twitter, Twitch, Vimeo, GitHub, among others. This represents a 12x increase from the 28,000 who had verified at the beginning of 2019. The firm’s press release stated:
“As we near the end of the year, with strong monthly active users showing for the beginning of December as well, we’ll be sharing more stats from 2019 in the coming weeks and unveiling more exciting features we have in the works.”
Brave Matching Towards Adoption
The success levels being experienced by the Brave Browser this year alone sends a strong message that the browser and its native token BAT are becoming a force to reckon with. The exponential growth in the extremely competitive cryptocurrency market within such a short time speaks volumes about the browser and token’s march towards adoption.
Brave browser’s success story so far gives all indications that if all things remain constant, we could see the launch of a stable version and more excellent times in 2020. The firm’s recent partnership with Everipedia has also played a role in the popularity of the browser and only time will tell how soon the Basic Attention Token (BAT) will catch up with the browser.
