Users may now manage their Solana (SOL) and Solana tokens (SPL) alongside tokens on all of Coinbase Wallet’s supported networks, including Ethereum, Avalanche, Polygon, and BNB Chain. This enables users to access additional features of web3 without the need to manage numerous wallets.
Coinbase Wallet integration into Solana dapps is also expected to be added in the near term. “You can store, send, and receive Solana tokens now. Dapp connections, trading, and NFTs are coming soon,” a banner within the app said Thursday. It’s worth mentioning that the Solana ecosystem tokens will be invisible in the Coinbase Wallet mobile app.
Meanwhile, Solana’s NFTs are frequently identifiable by their colourful but boring “pixel art,” and many argue that its customers are more interested in flipping than collecting. According to some, this is because of decreased liquidity. The reduced expenses associated with utilizing the Solana network may have found their best audience among NFT traders with smaller purchasing power, who are often more concerned with short-term profit than sentimental HODLing — a characteristic frequently observed in Ethereum NFT forums. However, many anticipate that with this recent breakthrough, social media companies will begin to pay more attention to the SOL network and perhaps include support for its NFTs.
