A chance has been provided to the SEC by the court to provide the suggested redactions to the reaction of Ripple over its opposition to the request of amici to take part in the next expert challenge. After the request of Ripple to provide its answer to the objection of the SEC, over the participation of Amici in the current legal case submitted publicly, it was stated by the court that Defenders will only be permitted to submit a reply in the public docket.
SEC Gets a Chance to Redact Ripple’s Response
As per a recent order, the SEC is advised to comprehend the response of Defendant and carry out the suggested redactions by the 23rd of June this year. If that does not happen in the case of any proposed redaction, it will be necessary for the SEC to file a letter elaborating the reason for not taking some parts of the response of Defendant to the amici’s objection thereof that was submitted in the public docket.
Analisa Torres, the Judge presiding over the case, ruled that by the 23rd of this June any of the proposed redactions will necessarily be filed by the SEC to the response of Ripple along with a letter to elaborate the proposal thereof. The order of the court was shared on the behalf of James K. Filan (the defense lawyer) on his official Twitter page. He discussed the development at length mentioning that the judge has given a chance to the SEC to speak something regarding anything within the response that it doesn’t seem right to go public along with the reasons behind.
Ripple Plans to Publicize Its Reaction
He added that she intends to know what the securities regulator wishes to redact and after that to take an overall decision simultaneously. This development takes place less than a couple of weeks following it was requested by Ripple as well as the individual defendants named Brad Garlinghouse and Chris Larsen that the court should publicize the response thereof to the objection of the Securities and Exchange Commission to the inclusion of amici in the impending Daubert challenge.
