New Zealand based cryptocurrency exchange, Cryptopia, recently announced the appointment of a new Sales and Marketing Director, as well as a report of incredible growth it has seen in the last 12 months.
Significant Growth Of The New Zealand-based Crypto Exchange
In the announcement Cryptopia cryptocurrency exchange made recently, as revealed by Business Insider, the exchange has seen massive growth in its users base. A development that saw the exchange double its 1 million user base within the past 12 months.
The cryptocurrency exchange, announced that it had seen a 116% growth in its user base since December, and 389% growth in its headcount to over 90 employees now working in its establishment.
Despite the bearish trend in the cryptocurrency market since the beginning of the year, it seems not to stop the influx of traders, investors, and enthusiasts, most especially on the Cryptopia platform. Though the crypto market has experienced a large market shed, many are still interested and waiting for another bullish move.
Backing the new achievement made by the cryptocurrency exchange as it adds more users, statistics revealed by the exchange, showed that Australia had seen a rapid growth from 5% to 13.5% since January in the number of cryptocurrency holders in the country.
This shows the increasing interest and optimism trailing cryptocurrency despite the bearish trend. Recently, Bitcoin market cap has increased as many still believe in the impending bullish trend that will trail Bitcoin in coming months.
Appointment of New Sales and Marketing Director
Meanwhile, Cryptopia exchange has appointed a new sales and marketing director in the person of Raj Washers. His appointment marks another movement from other industry into cryptocurrency.
Raj has well-nourished experience through his stay at Telstra and Singtel Optus, over a ten years period focused on product, marketing, and sales functions. Afterward, he served as the Head of Business for Vodafone New Zealand, in the U.K. as Vodafone’s Head of Convergence, and also served Microsoft as CMO in New Zealand. His wealth of experience for the role is in no doubt.
Raj noted that the cryptocurrency market is booming and he is very excited to join one of its most dynamic players. Also, Raj stated that challenges are one of his primary motivators and making Cryptopia one of the leaders in the crypto space is what he is aiming for.
Further, Cryptopia’s exchange CEO, Alan Booth noted that Raj had joined the firm at a pivotal time at that accelerated business growth is taking place.
