In a recent update, the Degen Chain team announced the successful restoration of their blockchain network. Users can now submit transactions through the public RPC link. However, the block explorer is still in the process of indexing and does not currently reflect the blockchain’s most recent transactions and state.
Selective Address Filtering to Expedite Recovery
To expedite the recovery and bring the network online swiftly, the Degen Chain team implemented a temporary filter on fewer than five addresses that were causing delays due to an overload of failed transactions. These addresses, responsible for tens of millions of failed transactions, were temporarily sidelined during the replay process to prevent further stalling. Transactions from these addresses will be processed but delayed, ensuring they do not hinder the overall network performance.
The successful recovery was bolstered by significant support from OffchainLabs, one of the large ARB holders, and the syndicate.io team, who provided essential guidance and assistance. The Degen Chain team expressed their gratitude for the pivotal collaborative effort in managing the incident.
The Degen community still awaits a forthcoming postmortem report from Conduit. This report will detail the incident, the steps taken to resolve the issues, and the measures to be implemented to prevent future occurrences. This comprehensive analysis is expected to offer transparency and insights into the challenges and strategies employed to navigate them.
