They’ve done it again: Nexo and the DP World Tour are teaming up to reward sheer golfing prowess with a brand-new “Course Record Presented by Nexo” prize. It is right in time for the Nexo Championship, teeing off August 7–10 at the gleaming, just-opened Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeen.
Here’s how it works: there’s a $10,000 base fund up for grabs for the first player who sets a fresh course record that still stands when the final putt drops. But to christen this first week in Scotland, Nexo is throwing in another $50,000 worth of NEXO Tokens, because nothing says “welcome to the future of sports sponsorship” like digital assets on the green.
If nobody beats the mark this week? Don’t worry! The pot rolls over to the next eligible event, climbing by an extra $10,000 each time until someone finally breaks through. Then it all resets, and the thrill starts anew. With ten course records snapped in 2024 and six more so far this season, don’t be surprised if the field goes all-out, swinging for glory on every fairway.
Antoni Trenchev, Nexo’s co-founder, put it best: “The Course Record marks the first recurring prize of its kind in golf, combining a performance-driven incentive with the reach and upward potential of digital assets. It reflects a milestone in DP World Tour’s and Nexo’s shared vision for innovation in professional golf.”
On the DP World Tour side, Ben Cowen, their Chief Tournament and Operations Officer, couldn’t hide his excitement: “We’re always looking for new ways to celebrate and reward the incredible talent on the DP World Tour, and the Course Record Presented by Nexo does just that. It will also further enhance the spectacle for our fans, with players tempted to take extra risks to shoot that coveted course record and claim the prize. A big thank you to Nexo for spearheading this new prize and best of luck to the players competing at the Nexo Championship.”
Digital Assets Meet Turf

The contest runs through the season-final DP World Tour Championship, then hits “reset” for 2026. A few ground rules: only single-course events qualify, weather-shortened tournaments need at least 36 holes completed, and any rounds played with preferred lies won’t count toward the record.
This week’s opener was preceded by a swanky gala on July 29, hosted by the Trump family and featuring Nexo’s founders, celebrating the gorgeous new layout on Scotland’s rugged coastline. Beyond the drama of big drives and birdie putts, the Championship is a real boon for Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, extending the summer tourism season and shoring up the region’s $400 million-plus annual golf tourism industry.
And in case you missed it, this isn’t Nexo’s first flag in the world’s biggest game: just last month, they signed on as the DP World Tour’s Official Marketing Partner and Official Digital Wealth Platform in a deal running through 2027. Clearly, both sides are all-in on mixing tradition with a dash of crypto flair. Here’s to watching history get rewritten, one stroke at a time.
