EQONEX Limited, a firm that provides financial services related to digital assets, is making new senior hires in key countries that are targeted for growth as part of an investment in its Asset Management division. Nick Cogswell has been given the post of Head of Sales, Asset Management, and will be located in London. Franklin Heng has been given the role of Head of Asset Management Asia and will be headquartered in Hong Kong. He will be responsible for driving the company’s strategy for the asset management solutions it offers in the Asian market. Both appointments are effective at this very moment.
As EQONEX works toward its goal of becoming the industry standard for digital asset investment platforms, the company is devoting considerable energy and financial resources to the development of its Asset Management business. EQONEX Asset Management comprises several important business lines, such as Lending, Structured Products, Investment Products, Bletchley Park, and a fund of crypto hedge funds.
Driving Growth Across The Asset Management Product Suite
After EQONEX’s first exchange-traded product, a Bitcoin Exchange Traded Note (ETN), was listed earlier this month on the Deutsche Borse XETRA Exchange, the company decided to expand its workforce by hiring new employees. Along with the introduction of the EQONEX Structured Products business, the listing of further ETNs is anticipated to take place in the following months.
Nick is going to be in charge of generating growth across the board for the complete Asset Management product line. Nick brings with him to EQONEX the knowledge and experience he gained while serving as CEO and Managing Director of his previous company, which was an FCA-regulated investment advising business. He brings with him 20 years of experience in the sales and structuring of cross-asset derivatives, investment options, and international structured products, working mostly with institutional investors.
In the meanwhile, Franklin will be in charge of expanding the reach of EQONEX Asset Management throughout the Asia Pacific region. After serving for 11 years with Springboard Capital, where he was a Managing Partner and designated Responsible Officer for policy guidelines, Franklin has decided to move on to new opportunities with EQONEX. Franklin formerly held the position of Managing Director, Head of Equity Derivatives and Structured Products Distribution at The Royal Bank of Scotland, where he oversaw business operations in Asia, excluding Japan from Hong Kong.
Matthew Clapp, who is the Head of Business Development, is also located in the London office, and Nick will work alongside him. Before beginning his career at EQONEX, Matthew worked at Levendi Investment Management as the Head of Institutional Business Development. Since more than a decade ago, Matthew has been active in the Structured Investment industry. With his extensive expertise across investment vehicles, he has a thorough awareness of the needs and expectations of a diverse investor base.
Aiming To Provide Optimal Digital Assets Financial Services
EQONEX Limited is a technology-driven virtual assets financial services business that offers clients a comprehensive array of trading, custody, and asset management products. EQONEX’s technology is an institutional standard, and the company also offers a trading platform. The ecosystem for the Group’s digital assets has been created to meet the demands of institutions as well as individuals while providing the same level of regulatory monitoring and safety that these stakeholders are accustomed to in standard finance systems.
EQONEX’s ecosystem is essentially comprised of EQONEX, a digital asset exchange; Digivault, an FCA-certified cold and hot digital assets custodian; and an Asset Management arm consisting of EQONEX Financial Products, EQONEX Structured Products, and Bletchley Park Asset Management, a portfolio of crypto-hedge funds.
Speaking of the appointments, Frank said: “The last year has been a period of ambitious growth and expansion for EQONEX’s Asset Management business, with the listing of our first exchange-traded product in Germany and the establishment of our strategic partnership with Binance Connect.”
Nick added: “I am thrilled to join EQONEX and look forward to leveraging my experience in traditional finance to harness the growing opportunities in the digital asset space. EQONEX is reputable in the marketplace for its highly experienced team, so I’m excited to join them in delivering EQONEX’s ambitious product roadmap across structured and investment products and also driving growth for Bletchley Park, the fund of crypto hedge funds.”
