Oobit, a renowned crypto payment infrastructure firm, has announced official integration with Polygon, a popular L2 scaling network. The integration takes into account the launch of stablecoin expenditure on the Polygon ecosystem across over 150M merchants accepting Visa worldwide. As per Oobit’s official press release, the launch links one of the top cost-effective blockchain networks to the worldwide retail payments. Hence, the consumers can seamlessly pay from the Polygon wallets while requiring no fund bridging, surrendering asset custody, or pre-funding accounts.
Oobit and Polygon Integration Enables Stablecoin Expenditure at 150M Merchants
The integration between Oobit and Polygon lets consumers spend their stablecoin holdings on Polygon across over 150M merchants around the world that reportedly accept Visa. The development denotes a notable move in shifting real-world utility to stablecoin holdings on-chain. Additionally, the integration of Oobit permits the use of Polygon-based stablecoins directly at checkout in physical and online retail environments.
In this respect, the conversion of stablecoins into regional fiat currency is carried out at the sales point. Additionally, they are rapidly settled via the payment rails of Visa. Moreover, Merchants get fiat without requiring any exclusive infrastructure, whereas consumers retain control of funds until the authorization of the payment. The system eliminates many friction spots that formerly restricted crypto expenditure, taking into account the requirement for custodial transactions, cross-chain bridging, or top-ups.
Offering Low-Cost and Fast Daily Stablecoin Payments for Daily Buyouts
This seamless procedure goes in line with blockchain payments, resembling conventional card experiences, and also preserves users’ self-custody. As per Oobit, the integration enables the spending of broadly utilized Polygon-based stablecoins like $DAI and $USDT across supermarkets, travel providers, everyday retail spots, and e-commerce platforms. Keeping this in view, stablecoins that formerly circulated primarily across dApps can now serve as daily funds at numerous checkout counters across the globe with cost-efficiency and speed.
