PlanetQuest, an online game owned by Galactic Entertainment, is collaborating with Immutable X to hold an NFT sale. The sale will take place on planequest.io, and is aimed at ensuring that the NFTs will end up in the hands of real buyers, and community participants, instead of bots.
PlanetQuest’s Massive Following
Since it came out of stealth on December 15, 2021, the PlanetQuest game has garnered a massive following. Today, it boasts of a community of over 215,000 members. The entire game is based around an interactive storyline where community members have the power to vote on the fate of beloved characters. Since the end of the first season of the game, an ancient artifact known as The Cradle was uncovered, opening up endless wormholes to unexplored galaxies, and setting the stage for the next milestone, which is the NFT sale dubbed The Community Planet Sale.
Details of the NFT Sale
During the sale, members of the community can trade deeds to pieces of land, as well as entire planets. Each plane will have a unique setting and can be viewed from orbit via a 3D interactive map in the browser. It will make it the first real-time 3D NFT sale ever.
The NFT sale will introduce a new approach that aims to end gas wars during the first come first serve formats. It will eliminate the issues of crashing sites, hung transactions, and front-running bots that often deny community members the opportunity to get NFTs.
Why Partnering with Immutable X Matters
PlanetQuest is collaborating with Immutable X, a Layer2 scaling solution on Ethereum, in order to alleviate the problems that affect the majority of sales of NFTs. The sale will take place in the form of a Community Sale, which will provide interested participants with sufficient time to select a planet they wish to purchase and submit a bid through the website for PlaneQuest. When the application period is over, all of the submissions will be ranked, and planets will be given to the participants who have demonstrated the most merit. Ferguson added that several members of their own team had become addicted to the concept and storyline. He noted that thanks to their technology, PlanetQuest would be able to conduct a bot-less, gasless, community-friendly NFT sale.
NFTs with Utility
The PlanetQuest NFTs are designed to be more than just collectibles. Planet owners will hold the keys to the game’s universe. It is especially so to those holding higher-tier planets as they will offer players additional bonuses, which will allow them and the planet owners to earn extra Quantum or $PQX, which is the in-game token. These tokens will go public in late 2022 before the game enters the Early Access phase in Q1 2023.
