T-Systems MMS participates with its infrastructure in securing and maintaining the Polkadot network and acquires DOT tokens
Deutsche Telekom subsidiary T-Systems MMS will use its infrastructure to participate the public blockchain network Polkadot as a validator. In addition, T-Systems MMS has acquired DOT tokens, and supports interoperability between decentralized blockchain networks. DOT, the native token of the Polkadot network, is one of the largest cryptocurrencies in the world.
The announcement did not disclose the amount of Polkadot tokens purchased by the telecom giant. T-Systems MMS is now a Polkadot validator that supports secure message exchange between independent blockchains. The telecom giant supports independence and decentralization. Therefore, it supports the blockchain network.
The company will use the Open Telecom Cloud (OTC) structure for the provision and operation of the infrastructure. According to the information conveyed by the company, while OTC meets the strict requirements on security and compliance in European legislation; the independence of the structure supports the decentralization and thus the flexibility of the blockchain network.

According to company information, Deutsche Telekom is one of the largest telecommunications enterprises in the world, with 242 million mobile subscribers, 27 million fixed-network lines, and 22 million broadband lines.
