The Enterprise Ethereum Alliance today announced that Polygon Labs, Ethena, and Nethermind have joined the Alliance as members. The move shows how Ethereum’s tools for big firms are coming together. This spans payments, basic money tools, and protocol engineering.
The EEA is where big players come together on Ethereum. It is a neutral table where companies, tech providers, and protocol teams agree on how Ethereum is used in large, regulated settings. It has IPR, NDA, and antitrust protections in place. So the Alliance allows teamwork that cannot happen anywhere else.
“Ethereum’s institutional stack is being built by the teams in this room. These aren’t companies experimenting with blockchain. They’re building the infrastructure institutions will run on.
The EEA is where that work gets connected to enterprise requirements, without the commercial conflicts that slow everything else down.”
Redwan Meslem, Executive Director, Enterprise Ethereum Alliance
Polygon: Building Global Payment Rails
Polygon Labs recently signed final deals to buy Coinme and Sequence for more than $250 million. The deals grow its reach in regulated stablecoin payments and onchain money services.
Together with Polygon, these tools form the Open Money Stack. This is a joined-up set of services and tech. It is built to move money fast, reliably, and within the rules between banks and onchain rails.
“Polygon processed more than $7 billion in stablecoin payments in one month. That level of volume reflects real payment infrastructure in use today.
Joining the EEA enables us to partner with enterprises on global settlement, merchant access, and compliant rails.”
Marc Boiron, CEO of Polygon Labs
Polygon Chain processed more than $7 billion in peer to peer stablecoin volume in November 2025 alone. It also supports major big-firm projects, including BlackRock’s BUIDL fund. As an EEA member, Polygon will add to talks on payment systems and use by large firms.
Nethermind: Keeping Ethereum’s Core Safe
Nethermind is a protocol engineering and research team. It builds and runs the core software and security tools used to run Ethereum in live use.
Our work focuses on the institutional needs that decide whether systems can be deployed safely at scale. These include speed under heavy load, being ready for upgrades, and security that can be checked.
Within the EEA, Nethermind adds hands-on skill in protocol engineering and security to the tech working groups. It helps members turn business needs into reliable systems they can test.
“Enterprises need implementation partners who understand protocol-level risk, performance constraints, and upgrade reality.
Nethermind brings execution engineering and security depth to the EEA, helping members ship reliable Ethereum deployments.”
Nitin Gaur, Head of Institutional Financial Products, Nethermind
Ethena: Growing DeFi-Native Money Tools
Ethena’s USDe became the fastest digital dollar asset in history to reach $10 billion in total value locked. It hit that mark in 500 days.
The protocol’s synthetic dollar is another option next to stablecoins backed by bank money. It can be used for treasury management and reward plans. Joining the EEA helps Ethena work with big firms that are looking at onchain finance.
“USDe reached $10 billion faster than any stablecoin in history because institutions want rewards and transparency.
The EEA gives us a seat at the table with the enterprises exploring how DeFi-native instruments fit into regulated workflows.”
Miguel de Sousa, Marketing Lead, Ethena

About the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance
The EEA is a member-led industry group and the institutional coordination layer for Ethereum. The Alliance brings together companies, tech firms, and large groups. It helps them work with peers, share their needs, and connect with the Ethereum open-source community. Its rules make this teamwork safe.
About Polygon
Polygon Labs is a global blockchain payments company. It builds and runs systems to move money fast, reliably, and at internet scale. Its mission is to move all money onchain.
It is building the Polygon Open Money Stack. This is an open, joined-up set of services and tech. It can move money anywhere, fast and reliably, and put it to work.
Its systems have handled trillions of dollars in onchain value transfer. It supports millions of transactions daily for some of the globe’s largest banks, fintechs, companies, and consumer apps.
About Ethena
Ethena is a synthetic dollar protocol built on Ethereum. It provides a crypto-native form of money, USDe. It also offers sUSDe, a dollar savings asset open to anyone in the world.
Ethena’s synthetic dollar, USDe, provides the crypto-native, scalable solution for money. It does this by delta-hedging Bitcoin, Ethereum and other governance-approved spot assets using perpetual and deliverable futures contracts. It also holds liquid stables such as USDC and USDT.
USDe is fully-backed (subject to the discussion in the Risks section regarding events potentially resulting in loss of backing) and free to compose throughout CeFi & DeFi.
About Nethermind
Nethermind builds and secures core Ethereum infrastructure.
They build the Nethermind execution client and help with network upgrades. They also do protocol-level work on rollups, zero-knowledge systems, and cross-chain design. Our security team audits smart contracts, ZK circuits, and off-chain parts. It also uses formal checks for key systems.
They keep deep skills across the full stack, from client tuning to open-source tools. Steady work on Ethereum’s growth backs this up. As blockchain meets AI, we’re developing hardware that anchors digital identity in verifiable biometrics with cryptographic privacy guarantees.
