A new protocol-level feature lets people send stablecoins to each other on Sui without holding SUI. It drops current stablecoin transfer fees to $0.00.
Sui, where money moves as freely as messages, today announced the launch of gasless stablecoin transfers. “Gas” is the fee a network charges to process a transaction.
This new protocol-level feature lets users and businesses send supported stablecoins on Sui without paying gas fees. They also do not need to keep a separate SUI token balance. With the feature now rolling out to validators, stablecoin transfer fees are $0.00 on the Sui network.
Which Stablecoins Are Supported
Support is live for major stablecoins, including:
- USDsui
- suiUSDe
- AUSD
- FDUSD
- USDB
- USDC
- USDY
The feature is designed to make payments simpler. It removes one of the biggest pain points in mass stablecoin use: the need to hold a separate token to complete transactions.
Fireblocks and Wallet Support
Fireblocks, the enterprise platform securing more than $14 trillion in digital asset transactions, added the new feature before the rollout. This is part of the wider growth of Sui’s payments ecosystem.
Many institutional custodians and retail wallets will also support gasless transactions at launch. Users can then send select stablecoins without holding or spending SUI on fees.
“Stablecoins are becoming a core part of global finance, but the infrastructure around them still creates unnecessary complexity,” said Adeniyi Abiodun, Co-Founder and CPO of Mysten Labs, the original contributor to Sui.
“From the start, we’ve said it should not cost individuals fees to move their own money. With gasless stablecoin transfers, we are one step closer in making Sui the global rail for payments, whether they are for businesses, AI agents, and consumers.”
Fireblocks’ support makes Sui’s payment system easier for big firms to use. It lets companies and financial service providers safely access and manage stablecoin activity on the network through trusted digital asset tools.
“The future of payments will run on stablecoin rails, but the experience for institutions still needs to catch up,” said Ran Goldi, SVP Payments & Network at Fireblocks.
“Sui is making all the right moves, with gasless stablecoin transfers that removes a major point of friction for enterprises building onchain payment flows and customer experiences.”
A Lasting Change, Not a Promotion
Gasless stablecoin transfers are a structural change to how single and batched peer-to-peer transfers of supported stablecoins work on Sui Mainnet. They are not a subsidy, sponsorship program, or short-term promotion.
In a market where margins are everything, the launch positions Sui as the default stablecoin network for three groups:
- Businesses that want to cut complexity and overhead costs
- Traders who are tired of failed transactions or the friction of fees
- AI agents, which will objectively choose the cheapest, easiest path to make autonomous payments
Sui’s Stablecoin Growth
Since August 2025, Sui has passed $1 trillion in stablecoin transfer volume. Its stablecoin ecosystem keeps growing fast across institutional, retail, and developer uses.
Sui’s design scales out and is built around objects. This lets the network handle many payments with steady performance and low running costs. That makes it a good fit for new payment apps, agentic commerce (purchases made by AI agents), and enterprise-grade financial systems.
These new protocol mechanisms work by sharply cutting processing costs. Gasless stablecoin transfers build on that base. They remove the need to pre-fund gas and to manage volatile treasury balances.
The result is simpler systems for institutions. It also gives a cost model that makes agentic commerce and autonomous systems work. Free transfers mean gas fees never match or exceed the value of the payment itself. This makes micropayments viable at any scale.
Recent momentum across the Sui ecosystem shows rising demand for scalable financial systems and stablecoin payments. In 2026 alone, four SUI exchange-traded products from 21Shares, Grayscale, and Canary Capital launched globally. These widened institutional access to the Sui ecosystem.
At the same time, major stablecoin projects have kept growing Sui’s digital dollar ecosystem. These include Bridge-issued Sui Dollar (USDSui) and Ethena-issued eSui Dollar (SuiUSDe). They strengthen Sui’s position as a base for internet-scale finance.
