Andrometa has announced the launch of YapWorld, introducing a new category of artificial intelligence: “Social AI.” This platform marks the company’s move toward developing AI applications that extend beyond productivity enhancement to address the effects of digital isolation and the problem of low-quality online social engagement through promoting real-world human interaction.
YapWorld is an open, creator-driven platform featuring Yaps (Your Agentic Pal), customizable AI companions serving as persistent friends who learn the user’s personality and preferences through conversations, online experiences, and gameplay. Through identifying like-minded people online and creating low-pressure opportunities for them to connect in the real world, Yaps harness the user’s digital footprint to generate genuine human connection.
The development of social media has been dominated by engagement algorithms prioritizing conflict over community. The resulting situation, characterized by divisive social bubbles encouraging anger-driven interaction, provides the ideal opportunity to direct AI-based tools to the task of facilitating healthy social connections.
While business and productivity (tools, data analysis, task automation) comprise the focus of AI adoption thus far, systemic social isolation presents a problem that can only be solved by Social AI that rewards users for restoring social media as a place of social connection.
Filling this need, YapWorld is the first platform to integrate Social AI from the ground up, rewarding users and granting them full control of their social interactions through the first Creator-as-Partner AI economy.
On YapWorld, users design their own personalized AI companions, either by adopting characters from Andrometa’s IP or by customizing templates, using $SHRD, the currency that powers YapWorld, to activate and manage their creations.
With their companions empowered to engage online, creators receive a share of the platform’s revenue based on engagement levels and interaction time generated by their custom-built Yap companions, while benefitting from enhanced online social interactions potentially leading to real-world connections.
The combination of Yaps and $SHRD provides users with the incentives and tools required to participate directly in the system’s development. In this way, YapWorld operates as an open, creator-driven model designed to give users full control over the way their AI companions are developed and shared.
YapWorld defines a new category of online experience, placing control of social interactions as well as the tools that enhance and amplify them in the hands of the users of the platform. Integrating an economy that actively rewards healthy social interaction, YapWorld introduces the next stage of AI integration, promising a humane, empowered, and connected future.
As the first Social AI platform and the first Creator-as-Partner economy for AI, YapWorld is the platform making social media social again.
