Bybit’s Copy Trading tool no longer stops at crypto. The world’s second-largest crypto exchange by trading volume has added support for TradFi Perpetual Contracts inside Copy Trading Classic, letting Master Traders open positions on stocks such as Tesla, Apple, and NVIDIA alongside their usual crypto trades. Followers who mirror those traders now pick up the equity exposure too, with everything settled in USDT. Details are laid out in the official announcement.
TradFi Perps aren’t shares. They are cash-settled derivatives tracking a stock’s price, so buyers get exposure without ownership, voting rights, or dividends. Settling everything in USDT also means users trade equities with the same stablecoin they already hold for crypto positions, skipping any fiat conversion or linked bank account. That structure is also why the contracts trade 24/7 instead of following Wall Street’s open and close hours, matching how crypto perpetuals already behave on the exchange.
Copying a stock trade works the same as copying a crypto one
Copy Trading itself isn’t new. It lets a user allocate funds to a Master Trader’s strategy and have trades executed automatically on their own account, without picking individual positions themselves. TradFi Perps now sit inside that same mechanism. A user browses Copy Trading Classic, picks a Master Trader who takes TradFi Perp positions, and follows them exactly as they would for a crypto-only strategy. From there, the copying is automatic: crypto trades and equity positions both get replicated, scaled to whatever amount the follower has allocated to that trader. There is no manual order entry and no separate brokerage account required.
For traders who already use Copy Trading as a passive way into markets, this closes a gap that previously meant leaving the platform entirely. Someone wanting equity exposure alongside crypto holdings no longer needs a brokerage account on top of their exchange account; both can now run through the same Copy Trading Classic interface. The pitch is straightforward: crypto holders adding equity exposure, or equity traders adding crypto, without keeping two separate account relationships open. Tesla, Apple, and NVIDIA are the three names Bybit has confirmed so far.
TradFi volume on crypto exchanges is climbing fast
The timing lines up with a broader move by crypto-native platforms into markets once served almost exclusively by traditional brokerages. By Bybit’s figures, monthly TradFi trading volume across major crypto exchanges grew 117-fold over eighteen months, climbing from $3.32 billion in January 2025 to $387.39 billion in June 2026. TradFi perpetual contracts alone generated $1.32 trillion in cumulative volume during the first five months of 2026. That compares with $104.21 billion for all of 2025, a roughly 12.7x increase.
Bybit describes the update as one piece of a broader effort to unlock multi-asset market access across its product suite, part of what it calls its New Financial Platform vision. Copy Trading is one of the existing tools being used to carry that expansion to users, rather than a standalone product built just for TradFi exposure. The approach extends the exchange’s offering from crypto pairs into stocks, gold, and other assets built on perpetual contract structures.
What Bybit hasn’t said yet
Three assets are live at launch, all among the most heavily traded stocks in the US market. Bybit has not said how many other TradFi Perps are planned, or whether the lineup will expand into other equities, indices, or commodities over time. Jurisdiction is also an open question. Some regions restrict retail access to leveraged derivatives on individual equities even when a crypto exchange offers them instead of a traditional broker, which is typically why eligibility controls vary by platform and region. The announcement does not spell out those rules for either Master Traders offering TradFi positions or the followers copying them, beyond a standard note that terms and conditions apply.
For now, TradFi Perps sit inside Copy Trading Classic next to Bybit’s existing crypto-only options, live for eligible users starting today.
