LEHI, UTAH – Element United, the Utah-based company with a mission of transforming mines worldwide with blockchain-based products and solutions, recently announced its upcoming tokenized carbon credit marketplace and Offset – its subscription-based model for individuals wanting to offset their footprint.
The company is helmed by Scott Lomu, a former miner himself and star of Jungle Gold, the 2012-2013 Discovery Channel show which followed him and his partner as they mined for gold in Ghana.
After seeing firsthand the destructive effects of mining, Lomu now chases sustainability and wants to show land owners how to use innovative technologies to find other ways to monetize their land, including creating carbon credits that can be tokenized, using the Element Blockchain and sold on its upcoming voluntary market. Carbon credits have a long history of fraudulent activity, including double-counting and greenwashing.
Lomu was recently quoted as saying, “Using blockchain technology, we can tokenize these carbon credits, offering layers of transparency, trust, and verification. “In addition to its marketplace, which will be aimed at businesses purchasing tokenized carbon credits, Element United is also offering a new program for individuals called Offset with an exciting new marketing campaign where you can “Offset your Mother, Brother, or Another.”
