Gate Charity, the philanthropic arm of the cryptocurrency exchange Gate.io, recently traveled to the Philippines to visit an Aeta community. While there, they distributed food and clothing and hosted interactive events for the local children. The donations were distributed between the 2nd and 3rd of December, and they represented Gate Charity’s third contribution to a charity organization.
Aeta is an umbrella term that refers to a number of distinct native peoples who currently reside on the island of Luzon in the Philippines. The Aeta people frequently reside in underprivileged and destitute communities. This is in part because the places in which they are concentrated are prone to natural disasters. A famous example of this is the eruption of Mount Pinatubo in 1991, which caused the destruction of numerous Aeta settlements and rendered the groundwater in the area undrinkable, which forced the Aeta to relocate.
Driving The Blockchain Philanthropy Movement Globally
Gate Charity is an international charitable foundation that operates on a not-for-profit basis and is dedicated to advancing the blockchain philanthropy movement on a worldwide scale. A community of Aeta people living in O’Donnell, Capas, Tarlac, Philippines, received 50 care packages consisting of food and clothing from Gate Charity, which was formed by a group of volunteers to help alleviate the difficulties faced by the communities in question. In addition, the children in the community were brought together through fun and competitive holiday-themed events that Gate Charity planned and managed.
This project symbolizes the beginning of Gate Charity’s philanthropic efforts in the Philippines. Prior to this, Gate Charity had previously begun charity projects in Vietnam and Turkey. Gate Charity is dedicated to elevating disadvantaged and destitute communities all over the world. In particular, the organization focuses on those individuals who have the least amount of influence but are yet worthy of support and attention.
Gate.io Is Also Extending support To The Industry
During the current bear market, the cryptocurrency exchange Gate.io, which is also one of the largest trading platforms in the world, is positioned itself to become a significant driver of the sector. Gate.io is leading activities that are aimed at promoting the safe and steady development of the industry and regaining users’ confidence at a time when other companies are rethinking their business strategies in order to respond to shifting market conditions.
An initial contribution of $100 million has been made to the Industry Liquidity Support Fund that the cryptocurrency exchange Gate.io has formed in order to support the general health of the industry. The fund will provide assistance to entities within the industry, lightening their load and allowing them to continue pushing the industry ahead and ensuring a healthy market environment.
Dr. Lin Han, Founder and CEO of Gate.io, said, “We are supporting high-quality and strong projects and market facilitators so we can collectively continue moving blockchain forward. Unforeseen hurdles during the bear market shouldn’t adversely affect users and inhibit innovation. Now is the time to work together on rebuilding, protecting users, and fortifying the market.”
Gate.io established the fund with the intention of assisting in the reconstruction of the industry in the wake of significant collapses. This will ensure that users are better protected from unfavorable market conditions and will allow innovators to concentrate on developing the blockchain technology of the future. These high-quality projects, market makers, high-frequency traders, and other institutional clients and high-net-worth people will each receive a portion of the $100 million that will be distributed.
