Experienced professionals evaluating a potential employer want to know how career growth works once they are part of the business. At Coinspaid, career development combines structured feedback, practical planning, and opportunities to build expertise in a complex blockchain and fintech environment. The company can make the next step clearer and provide relevant support, while employees remain responsible for choosing a direction and acting on it.
What does career growth actually mean at Coinspaid?
Career development doesn’t have to begin with a promotion. An employee may deepen their expertise, assume responsibility for a more complex area, lead a project, move into management, or pursue another professional direction within the business.
Coinspaid recognizes these different paths. Its approach combines formal evaluation, feedback, personal development planning, and learning initiatives. The purpose is to help employees understand where they stand and what they can do next.
Irina Ravinskaya, HR Strategy & Talent Development Lead at Coinspaid, explains how this approach works in practice. “We approach development and growth from very different angles and try to make it as practical as possible,” she says.
Practicality is important because experienced professionals rarely need abstract encouragement to grow. They need useful feedback, a realistic goal, and actions that relate to their work. At the same time, no process can guarantee a promotion. Career decisions still depend on performance, business needs, available roles, and an employee’s readiness to expand their professional scope.
How career development works at Coinspaid
Career development at Coinspaid follows a structured process built around evaluation, feedback, development goals, and individual planning.
The annual employee evaluation is one of the starting points. Rather than relying on a single perspective, it combines feedback from colleagues and the manager with the employee’s own assessment.
“Each individual receives feedback from the team and the manager and, of course, completes their own reflection,” says Irina Ravinskaya.
This process helps employees understand their current strengths, identify areas for improvement, and consider where they may be ready to take on greater responsibility. Self-reflection also allows them to compare their own view of their performance with feedback from others and think about their professional interests and development priorities.
The process then moves from evaluation to action:
- The employee reviews feedback from colleagues and their manager.
- They reflect on their own performance, professional interests, and development priorities.
- Together with their manager and HR business partner, they define development goals and create a personal development plan.
- Relevant learning initiatives and other forms of development support are selected based on the employee’s needs and goals.
“Together with the manager and HR business partner, they create a personal development plan,” Ravinskaya explains.
The plan translates development goals into practical actions. Depending on the employee’s needs and professional direction, the focus may be on deepening expertise, developing capabilities needed for greater responsibility, or preparing for a different professional direction within the business.
This gives career development a clear framework: employees receive feedback, assess where they stand, define where they want to develop, and agree on actions that can help them move forward. Development therefore has a structured process behind it rather than happening informally or accidentally.
How employees build new skills and expertise
Professional development at Coinspaid can take different forms depending on an employee’s role, goals, and current development needs. A specialist building deeper expertise, for example, may need a different type of support from a new manager developing leadership skills.
“We have different initiatives, individual budgets, clubs, and sessions focused on what each employee needs at a particular stage,” says Irina Ravinskaya.
In practice, employees can use these opportunities to develop specific skills and expand their professional knowledge. Individual development budgets provide flexibility to choose relevant learning resources, while internal clubs and focused sessions create opportunities to learn alongside colleagues working on similar skills or challenges.
Knowledge sharing across teams is another part of this approach. Internal sessions can give employees insight into areas outside their immediate responsibilities and help them understand how different functions contribute to the wider business. Coinspaid teams, for example, have held sessions covering back-office processes and explaining how the work of particular functions connects with other parts of the company.
This kind of cross-functional learning helps employees build expertise beyond the boundaries of their own role. Combined with individual learning opportunities and internal knowledge sharing, it gives employees several practical ways to develop the skills that are most relevant to their current work and future professional direction.
Building expertise in blockchain and fintech
Career development in tech becomes more demanding when the business operates at the intersection of several specialist fields. Coinspaid is a blockchain solutions company, so its employees work alongside professionals across blockchain, fintech, engineering, payments, compliance, security, finance, operations, product development, and other business functions.
A decision made within one function may have consequences elsewhere. A product change can affect operational processes. A client request may raise a compliance question. A commercial commitment may encounter a technical or security constraint. Working through these real business challenges gives employees practical experience of how different areas of expertise intersect.
For professionals building a career in blockchain and fintech, this environment provides opportunities to develop expertise while collaborating with specialists from different professional backgrounds. Technical or functional expertise remains essential, but so does understanding when a decision requires input from another team and how different perspectives contribute to solving a problem.
The industry itself continues to evolve. Payment practices, regulatory expectations, security risks, and blockchain technologies do not stand still. Building long-term expertise therefore also requires curiosity and a willingness to update existing knowledge as technologies, requirements, and market conditions change.
Internal career growth in practice
Internal mobility is one way professional development can translate into meaningful changes in an employee’s role and responsibilities. More than 40% of senior roles filled at Coinspaid during an 18-month period went to internal candidates.
Individual career journeys show what that progression can look like in practice:
- Cross-functional growth. One employee joined the wider Coinspaid business as a Relationship Officer. They later moved into account management, became Lead Account Manager, transitioned into operations, and eventually took responsibility for Product Operations. Moving across functions expanded both their responsibilities and their understanding of how client requests move through commercial, product, and operational teams.
- Growth within a discipline. Another employee followed a different path. They remained within the broader communications field while gradually taking responsibility for a wider scope of work and decisions. Their progression shows how career growth can also come from deepening expertise and expanding responsibility within the same professional discipline.
The two journeys illustrate different forms of internal career growth. One crosses functional boundaries; the other develops within a particular field. In both cases, progression involved a broader scope of responsibility rather than simply a change in title.
These examples show why career growth does not have to follow a single route. Depending on the employee and the opportunities available within the business, it can mean moving into another function, developing deeper expertise, taking ownership of a broader area, or progressing into a position with greater responsibility.
What is the employee’s role in career development?
Career development also requires employees to take an active role in deciding what they want to develop and how they want to progress.
That starts with several practical questions:
- Which capability do I want to strengthen?
- What recurring feedback should I address?
- Do I want deeper expertise, broader responsibility, management experience, or a move into another function?
- Which learning initiative could help me close a specific gap?
- What results would demonstrate that I’m ready to take on greater responsibility?
For experienced professionals, active development also means being open to feedback that may not match their initial self-assessment. Curiosity, initiative, willingness to learn, and readiness to take responsibility all play a role. Development is not only about completing a course or attending a session; it also depends on how employees apply what they learn in their day-to-day work.
Coinspaid can provide feedback, development tools, learning opportunities, and a professional environment in which employees can expand their expertise. Employees, in turn, need to take ownership of their development: identify priorities, use the resources available to them, act on feedback, and demonstrate their readiness for greater responsibility.
Career development is therefore a shared process. The company provides the structure and support, while employees actively turn those opportunities into stronger skills, broader expertise, and professional progress.
