In a significant move, Mt. Gox transferred 2,239 BTC, valued at $149 million, to Bitstamp 30 minutes ago. This marks another step in the repayment process to creditors, planned for July.
Mt. Gox has been actively moving Bitcoin throughout the month. On July 5, the company deposited 1,545 BTC, worth $83.5 million, to Bitbank. Then, on July 16, Mt. Gox transferred 48,641 BTC, valued at $3.06 billion, to wallet “3JQie”, which is likely a Kraken deposit. The most recent transfer occurred on July 23, with 2,239 BTC sent to Bitstamp.

Just four hours ago, Mt. Gox moved another substantial amount. A total of 42,587 BTC, valued at $2.84 billion, was transferred. Of this amount, 37,477 BTC, worth $2.5 billion, was sent to a new wallet, “15yPUC”, likely intended for creditor repayment. Additionally, 5,110 BTC, valued at $341 million, was moved to another internal cold wallet of Mt. Gox.
Mt. Gox holds a significant amount of Bitcoin, with a current balance of 101,507 BTC, valued at approximately $6.78 billion. This series of transfers indicates ongoing efforts by Mt. Gox to manage its Bitcoin assets and repay creditors as planned.
