Supra has opened applications for its MultiVM testnet. Supra is a vertically integrated Layer 1, or base blockchain. It runs smart contracts on many virtual machines, which it calls MultiVM. It also has native oracles, dVRF, automation, and cross-chain messaging.
The news came during today’s keynote at Devconnect Buenos Aires, held as part of Multichain Day. Jon Jones, Co-Founder and Chief Business Officer of Supra, made the announcement. His talk looked at how chains can work together and at the next wave of Web3 tools.
What MultiVM Means for Developers
This launch marks a key moment for dApp development. Supra aims to give EVM developers, as well as MoveVM developers, a strong new base. On it, they can build, test, and deploy fast apps that scale across ecosystems. They can do this without giving up security, composability, or liquidity.
SolanaVM support is underway and is expected early next year. That would make Supra the first L1 ever to support multiple virtual machines and execution environments from many ecosystems.
“We built MultiVM because we believe developers should never have to choose between innovation and access,” said Jones.
“Supra aims to give teams the ability to write smart contracts in the languages of multiple virtual machines and deploy them into a fully parallelized environment, while also accessing native automation and cross-chain services, all within one unified infrastructure.”
Supra’s MultiVM design lets dApp developers write smart contracts in Solidity or Move, with SolanaVM support underway. They can tap into Supra’s native services, such as:
- 600+ built-in Oracle price feeds
- Cross-chain communications
- Automation tools
This removes old limits that kept projects locked into Ethereum-compatible environments. Those limits stopped them from working with apps in other growing ecosystems.
MultiVM joins these environments with shared blockspace and one execution model. Supra says this is set to redefine what is possible in the multi-chain era. Supra aims to become a decentralized global super computer. Its thesis is that such a system should run programs written in many programming languages.
SupraEVM and the SupraBTM Engine
A core part of the MultiVM design is SupraEVM, the network’s native EVM-compatible version. It was built from the ground up for speed. SupraEVM includes SupraBTM, a hybrid parallel execution engine. It puts each transaction in a fixed order and spots clashes in advance.
This enables much higher throughput and lower latency than all EVM chains in the industry. Developers do not need to change existing Solidity contracts.
SupraBTM was recently benchmarked as the fastest parallel EVM executor publicly tested to date. Independent analysis confirms that SupraBTM beats emerging EVM projects such as Monad in high-conflict DeFi workloads. It still keeps safety that anyone can check and finality that is certain.
To back this claim, Supra’s Co-Founder and CEO, Joshua Tobkin, launched a $1 million public bounty. It offers a reward to any team that can beat SupraBTM’s performance by 15% or more in open, reproducible benchmarks.
“Too often, developers are forced to compromise between ecosystems. EVM devs feel the constraints of legacy performance, while Move developers remain isolated from the liquidity-rich Ethereum economy,” said Tobkin.
“With MultiVM, Supra is collapsing the walls between ecosystems. Our vision is to provide a scalable foundation that allows applications to transcend technical silos and reach users wherever they are. With SupraBTM, we’re also proving that high performance and verifiability can coexist without tradeoffs.”
MultiVM on a Supra Testnet: Now Open for Applications
Supra wants to draw the best EVM talent to its ecosystem. As a big step, it has today opened applications for a sizable grant program. The program invites EVM developers who want early access to the MultiVM Testnet to send in their best ideas and apps. The testnet is built to mimic mainnet conditions.
Selected projects will have access to nearly all of Supra’s complete developer stack, including:
- Full MoveVM and EVM compatibility (no code changes required for Solidity contracts)
- Vertically integrated services such as native oracles, deterministic verifiable randomness (dVRF), and event-driven automation, all live or coming soon to the SupraEVM
- Unified RPC infrastructure supporting both Move and EVM environments
- Tooling compatibility with Hardhat, Foundry, and Supra’s native CLI/IDE
- Coming soon: VM-to-VM messaging and automation that works across environments
Grant Program Details
- Total pool: $250,000 for the best talent on offer
- Teams funded: up to 10 development teams
- Per team: up to $25,000 in milestone-based grants
- Focus: new EVM-native projects deploying on Supra’s infrastructure
Each selected project will work closely with the Supra developer relations team. Together they will set technical milestones, deploy contracts on MultiVM infrastructure, and prepare for mainnet integration in early 2026.
This follows a wave of recent infrastructure releases from Supra. These include the DevWire Hub, a new resource portal. It offers tutorials, CLI tools, RPC documentation, and weekly updates for developers building on Supra.
Supra’s MultiVM plan also includes long-term support for more VMs beyond EVM and Move, with SolanaVM now in development. This reflects a wider vision of universal Web3 composability. Developers could launch apps once, then reach users on any network without friction or fragmentation.

How to Apply
Developers building fast dApps in Solidity can now apply for Supra’s MultiVM Testnet and grant program. The program offers early access to Supra’s new tools, plus engineering help and funding. It targets projects with strong technical merit that fit Supra’s multi-chain vision. Interested teams may apply directly via the official application portal.
About Supra
Supra is the first chain built for Automatic DeFi (AutoFi). AutoFi is a new kind of money system that runs by itself. It also serves as the perfect framework for crypto AI Agents. It runs on Supra’s vertically integrated Layer-1 blockchain. The chain has built-in high-speed smart contracts, native price oracles, system-level automation, and bridgeless cross-chain messaging.
Supra’s vertical stack unlocks all-new AutoFi building blocks. These can generate fair, recurring protocol revenue and share it across the ecosystem. Over time, this cuts reliance on inflationary block rewards entirely. The stack also gives onchain AI Agents all the tools they need to run a wide range of powerful DeFi workflows for users. They can do it all on their own, and safely.
