TRON has quietly become the main settlement network for the world’s largest stablecoin. By the end of the second quarter of 2026, USDT on TRON reached $87.9 billion, ahead of Ethereum’s $78.7 billion, according to Messari, and the network processed about $2.1 trillion in USDT transfers in that quarter alone. In March 2026, the SEC dismissed its long-running case against founder Justin Sun and the TRON Foundation, and in September Canary Capital launched a staked TRX ETF in the US. TRX trades near $0.33 in late October 2026, up about 16% this year and about 25% below its December 2024 all-time high of $0.4407.
Unlike many cryptocurrencies that debuted in 2017, TRON did not lead with innovations in cryptography or network architecture. Instead, it combined established technologies such as decentralized applications, smart contracts, tokens and delegated proof-of-stake consensus, and made its virtual machine compatible with Ethereum (ETH), which drew criticism that it borrowed heavily from earlier projects. What set TRON apart was execution on cheap, fast payments and a marketing strategy focused on Asia, led by Justin Sun.
The TRON Foundation significantly raised its profile in 2018 by acquiring BitTorrent, a pioneer of peer-to-peer file sharing. In this article, we explore the TRON price prediction with an in-depth analysis of the TRX price forecast for each year and current market sentiment.
TRON: A Quick Introduction
Using blockchain technology and decentralized apps (DApps), the TRON network aims to advance the decentralization of the internet. Founded in September 2017 by Justin Sun, TRON launched its mainnet in May 2018.
In July 2018, TRON expanded its ecosystem by acquiring BitTorrent, a decentralized file-sharing service with about 100 million monthly active users at the time. By April 2021, TRON had overtaken Ethereum as the network with the largest supply of USDT, and USDT on TRON reached a record of about $92.7 billion in the third quarter of 2026. In December 2021, TRON transitioned to a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) governed by its community.
TRX, also known as TRONIX, is the native token of the TRON protocol and the basic unit of account on the blockchain. The ecosystem includes tokens such as BitTorrent (BTT), JUST (JST), USDD and Tether (USDT), all of which rely on TRX to pay for network resources. TRX connects the entire TRON ecosystem, from stablecoin transfers to DeFi and gaming applications. You can follow the live TRX price on our price page.
TRON: How Does It Work?
The TRON Virtual Machine (TVM) is a compact, Turing-complete virtual machine built for the TRON ecosystem. Tokens are deployed through smart contracts using the TRC-20 standard, which is compatible with Ethereum’s ERC-20. The August 2026 GreatVoyage v4.8.2 upgrade brought features from Ethereum’s Prague and Osaka upgrades to the TVM and added passkey signature checks.
TRON’s architecture is structured into storage, core and application layers. The core layer contains modules for consensus, account management and smart contracts, and uses a delegated proof-of-stake (DPoS) mechanism for consensus.
In the DPoS system, token holders stake TRX and vote for 27 super representatives (SRs), who produce blocks and maintain the network’s transaction history. A new block is created about every three seconds, and SRs and the voters who back them earn newly issued TRX. Voting power is concentrated: the top 13 SRs held about 68% of voting weight in the first quarter of 2026, according to TRON DAO.
TRON employs an efficient instruction set within a stack-based virtual machine. Its smart contracts are written in Solidity and other high-level languages. The distributed storage protocol comprises Block Storage and State Storage, integrating a graph database to meet diverse data storage needs.
Developers on TRON can create DApps and wallets, with smart contracts opening up a wide range of applications. What distinguishes TRON further?
TRON’s network includes three types of nodes: Witness Nodes, Full Nodes and Solidity Nodes. Witness Nodes, run by SRs, are responsible for block production, voting and proposal creation. Full Nodes broadcast APIs, transactions and blocks, while Solidity Nodes sync blocks from Full Nodes and provide indexable APIs.
Benefits Of TRON
Users can take part in selecting super representatives by holding and staking TRX. Staking also gives users bandwidth and energy, the two resources TRON uses to pay for transactions, so frequent users can send tokens without burning TRX for every transfer.
TRON’s biggest advantage today is cheap, fast stablecoin settlement. Users either stake TRX to receive energy or burn TRX to pay for it, and a market of energy-rental services has grown up around reducing USDT fees. In the first quarter of 2026, governance proposal #104 cut the cost of deploying smart contracts by about 60%.
The TRON network is designed to handle about 2,000 transactions per second, well above Bitcoin at a handful per second. In the second quarter of 2026 it processed about 11.8 million transactions a day, according to Messari.
TRX trades around the clock on major exchanges, connecting buyers and sellers worldwide. If you are new to the market, it is worth learning basic trading and risk management before committing significant funds, and storing TRX in one of the TRON wallets we have reviewed.
TRON Price Prediction: TRX Historical Price Trend
TRON was established in 2017 and raised $70 million in an initial coin offering (ICO) from August 30 to September 1. The ICO, conducted in BTC, priced TRX at about $0.0019 per coin.
After the ICO, TRON listed on exchanges at about $0.002, according to CoinMarketCap. The price was stable until December 2017, when it surged on Justin Sun’s influence in China and the wider crypto mania, peaking at about $0.30 in January 2018.
That peak was brief. TRX declined with the broader market through 2018 and spent most of the following years below $0.10. In 2022, market shocks such as the collapse of the Terra (LUNA) blockchain and the bankruptcy of the FTX (FTT) exchange kept TRX below $0.10, and it closed the year at about $0.0545.
The next cycle was different. TRX rallied with the market after the November 2024 US election and set a new all-time high of $0.4407 on December 3, 2024, according to CoinMarketCap. It closed 2025 at about $0.284, then traded between $0.268 (February 6) and $0.376 (May 26) in 2026. At about $0.33 in late October, TRX is up about 16% for the year, outperforming most large altcoins in 2026.
TRON Price Prediction: Technical Analysis
TRX trades near $0.329, just below its 50-day moving average of about $0.335 and its 200-day average of about $0.333, according to CoinCodex data from October 23. The 14-day RSI is about 38, in neutral territory. The two averages are almost flat and close together, which reflects how tightly TRX has traded for most of 2026 compared with the rest of the market.
A positive sign for the bulls is how well the $0.31 area has held: TRX closed both March and June near that level before climbing to about $0.337 at the end of September. A daily close back above the moving averages, around $0.335, would open the way toward the 2026 high of $0.376 and then the all-time high of $0.4407.
This view would be invalidated by a sustained break below $0.31. In that case, the next supports are the year’s opening level near $0.284 and the February low of $0.268.

TRON Price Prediction: By Experts
CoinCodex’s technical readings are neutral: TRX is holding close to its 50-day and 200-day averages, with a 14-day RSI near 38. Its long-range model projects about $1.87 for December 2035, $2.32 for December 2040 and $3.78 for 2050.
CoinLore’s scenario model, updated on October 24, 2026, puts TRX between $0.22 and $0.82 at the end of 2026, with a base case of $0.31. For 2030 its range runs from $0.36 to $1.98 with a base case of $0.47, and for 2040 from $2.03 to $8.30.
Changelly’s yearly outlook puts TRX at about $1.86 in 2035 and $2.29 in 2040. Traders Union is more cautious, at about $1.03 for 2035 and $2.50 for 2040. Of the older forecasts, StealthEX projected $0.36 for 2026 and $0.72 for 2030 in August, and DappRadar’s June model put TRX at $0.34 for 2026 and $0.43 for 2030.
Is TRX a Good Investment? When to Buy?
TRON is a Layer 1 blockchain that consistently records some of the highest transaction and user figures in crypto, and it now ranks eighth by market capitalization. Its business is stablecoin settlement: in the second quarter of 2026 the network earned about $699 million in fees, according to Messari, and USDT on TRON reached a record of about $92.7 billion in the third quarter, roughly half of all USDT, according to a CoinDesk Research report commissioned by TRON. That makes TRX one of the few tokens backed by large, recurring fee revenue.
Regulatory risk has also eased. The SEC dismissed its claims against Justin Sun and the TRON and BitTorrent foundations in March 2026, with Rainberry, formerly BitTorrent Inc., paying a $10 million penalty. US investors can now buy the Canary Staked TRX ETF (TRXS), which launched on Cboe BZX on September 9, 2026, stakes almost all of its TRX and held about $50 million in October. Our altcoin ETF tracker lists every fund.
There are real risks. TRX has no maximum supply. New issuance of about 3.9 million TRX a day, roughly 1.5% a year, outpaced burns in 2026, so supply grew modestly. TRX was not among the 16 tokens the SEC and CFTC named as digital commodities in March 2026. Voting power among super representatives is concentrated, and the project’s reputation remains closely tied to Justin Sun. Tron Inc., the Nasdaq-listed company that holds TRX in its treasury, is another link between TRX and its founder.
The most evident factor influencing TRX’s price is still the broader market trend, although in 2026 TRX has held up better than most large altcoins. Rather than trying to time a single entry, long-term buyers often spread purchases over time and size positions for a market that can fall 50% or more.
Conclusion
Predicting the future of any cryptocurrency is challenging. TRON has transitioned to a decentralized autonomous organization, TRON DAO, which hosts events such as HackaTron, where developers compete to build decentralized applications. In 2024, TRON DAO announced that Google Cloud had become one of its super representatives, the network nodes responsible for producing blocks.
The next catalysts are concrete: Justin Sun has said TRON aims to be quantum-resistant by the end of 2026, USDT on TRON is approaching $100 billion, and new integrations keep arriving, from Ethena’s USDe going live in the third quarter to Polygon adding TRON to its Open Money Stack. As long as TRON remains the default rail for stablecoin payments, TRX is likely to keep its standing among the largest cryptocurrencies.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the TRON price prediction for 2026?
Most models put TRX between about $0.28 and $0.37 at the end of 2026. CoinCodex projects about $0.36 for December, Changelly averages $0.345 and Traders Union expects about $0.28. Our own model from August 2024 put the 2026 average at $0.328, almost exactly where TRX trades in late October. A new all-time high above $0.4407 this year looks unlikely.
Will TRX reach $1?
Most current models see TRX passing $1 around 2030. CoinCodex projects about $1.52 for December 2030 and Changelly averages $1.25, while Traders Union expects about $0.89 that year and passes $1 by 2035. At about 95 billion TRX in circulation, $1 implies a market cap of about $95 billion, roughly three times today’s level.
What is the TRON price prediction for 2030?
For 2030, CoinCodex projects about $1.52, Changelly averages $1.25 and Traders Union expects about $0.89. CoinLore’s base case is far lower at $0.47, with a bull case of $1.98. Our 2024 model put the 2030 average at $1.53. Reaching those levels would require TRON to keep its lead in stablecoin payments.
Is TRX deflationary?
Not in 2026. TRX has no maximum supply, and about 3.9 million new TRX are issued each day, roughly 1.5% a year. Fee burns offset most of that, but supply still grew: net issuance was about 70.5 million TRX in the first quarter and about 87 million in the second, according to TRON DAO and Messari reports.
Is there a TRON ETF?
Yes. The Canary Staked TRX ETF (TRXS) began trading on Cboe BZX on September 9, 2026. It stakes almost all of its TRX, charges a 1.10% fee and held about $50 million in net assets in late October 2026. TRX was not among the 16 tokens the SEC and CFTC named as digital commodities in March 2026.
Why is TRON used for USDT?
TRON offers fast, cheap transfers, and users can stake TRX for energy to reduce fees further. That made it the main network for Tether’s USDT, especially for payments and exchange transfers. USDT on TRON passed Ethereum’s supply in 2021 and reached a record of about $92.7 billion in the third quarter of 2026, roughly half of all USDT in circulation.
Can TRX reach a new all-time high?
TRX’s record is $0.4407 from December 3, 2024, about 34% above the current price. CoinCodex projects about $0.50 by December 2027, Traders Union about $0.43 for 2027 and $0.48 for 2028, and our 2024 model put 2027 at $0.48. That points to a possible new high in 2027 or 2028 if the market cooperates.
