- TokenPost has launched a blockchain-based publishing platform.
- PUBLISH Alliance aims to promote financial independence for media platforms.
- PUBLISH plans to be the international standard for publishing.
One of the biggest factors that contributed to the rise of the blockchain technology in the mainstream space is the media attention it has gotten from various media outlets.
Now, TokenPost, a cryptocurrency, and blockchain focused media outlet has created a new enterprise to increase journalistic integrity to the blockchain space and also to use the DLT itself to benefit the industry.
This new enterprise is called PUBLISH Alliance and helps connect publications, academic institutions and start-ups to their recently launched PUBLISH protocol.
PUBLISH
The PUBLISH platform is designed to create a self-sustaining platform that publishes original content and rewards the users and content creators alike for their interactions.
The PUBLISH platform is actively trying to establish itself as a model for other publications to follow as it, unlike traditional media structures, is built to be highly self-sustaining and is based on the NEM blockchain.
This new development is aimed to create a situation where independent newsrooms can be financially stable and able to regularly produce content. It also aims to help restore journalistic integrity.
Most of all, this new development acknowledges the inevitable shift from print to online media to blockchain-based platforms.
This is reminiscent of the last decade when media made the leap from print to online. Publications that did not anticipate the change and make the transition on time found themselves facing financial problems and many ended up closing down.
If publications are to survive the next transition in media, they will have to embrace the new blockchain-based platforms.
Pushing the Change
PUBLISH aims to lead the transition to this new system and also to set the international standard for blockchain-based media publishing.
This new system has the added advantage of providing publishers with a platform that will not only make the publishing experience easier but will also help them reach a wider audience.
“Having identified the need to tokenize the media industry, the next step for us was to bring the industry together to leverage blockchain technology. PUBLISH Alliance will work towards addressing the problems that currently plague this sector,” Sonny Kwon, CEO of the PUBLISH Protocol, said in a statement.
Members of the Alliance will enjoy a number of benefits including access to the TokenPost News and Data Feed, a co-initiative by TokenPost International and TokenPost Korea
