XYO is the token of XYO Network, a DePIN (decentralized physical infrastructure network) project launched in 2018 that collects and verifies real-world data, such as where a device was and when, so blockchains, AI systems and robots can rely on it. XYO coin traded near $0.0030 at 10:53 UTC on November 4, 2026, with a market cap of about $41.6 million (#406 on CoinMarketCap), about 96% below its November 2021 all-time high of $0.082.
Since September 2025 the project runs its own blockchain, XYO Layer One, with two tokens: XYO, which holders stake to secure the network, and XL1, which pays for gas, settlement and rewards. XYO Network says it has more than 10 million nodes, most of them phones running its COIN app, and its company, XY Labs of San Diego, reports to the US Securities and Exchange Commission under Regulation A.
Key details about XYO crypto (November 4, 2026):
- What it is: a data verification network for location and other real-world data, with its own layer 1 blockchain since 2025
- Tokens: XYO (staking and governance, about 13.87 billion in circulation, maximum about 13.93 billion) and XL1 (gas on XYO Layer One)
- Networks: XYO is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum and also exists on Solana
- Price: about $0.0030, down about 37% since the end of 2025 and about 52% over 12 months
- Where it trades: Coinbase, Kraken, KuCoin, Gate, MEXC, HTX, Crypto.com, Bitvavo, Bithumb and the Revolut app; CoinMarketCap lists no XYO market on Binance
What Is XYO Crypto?
XYO crypto is the native token of XYO Network, a network of devices and software that records real-world events and turns them into signed, verifiable data. The project started with Bluetooth and GPS location beacons and now describes itself as “decentralized infrastructure for verifying real-world data,” with the tagline “AI thinks. Robots act. XYO proves.” on its official site.
The idea behind XYO is that blockchains and smart contracts cannot see the physical world. A contract that pays out when a parcel arrives, or an AI agent that needs to know where a delivery robot is, has to trust some data source. XYO Network tries to make that source verifiable by having many independent devices witness and sign each data point, so a buyer of the data can check where it came from. In that sense XYO works as an oracle for location and sensor data.
XYO Network was created by XY Labs, a San Diego company led by co-founder and chief executive Arie Trouw, with co-founder Markus Levin. The company previously operated as “XY, The Findables Company”, and the XYO token launched in 2018. Our interview with XYO CEO Arie Trouw covers the project’s view of data ownership.

How Does XYO Network Work?
XYO Network works by having devices observe events, sign what they saw together with other nearby devices, pass the signed records along a chain of participants and store them so that anyone who pays can query the result. Each step adds a cryptographic signature, which lets the buyer score how trustworthy an answer is.
The Four-Layer Architecture
XYO’s original technical overview, published on February 20, 2018, splits the network into four roles:
- Sentinels are edge devices, such as Bluetooth or GPS beacons and phones, that observe location data and record it in time-ordered ledgers.
- Bridges relay those ledgers from Sentinels to Archivists and confirm that the data was not changed on the way.
- Archivists store the data, index it and return it on request. They are paid when their data is retrieved.
- Diviners watch for queries from connected blockchains, gather the best answers from Archivists and deliver them to smart contracts as an oracle.
Under that design, a user who submits a query pays in XYO tokens, and the payment is split between the Diviner, Archivist, Bridge and Sentinel whose data was used, with the Diviner receiving the largest share.
Proof of Origin and Proof of Location
The core mechanism is the “bound witness.” When two XYO devices meet, they exchange data and public keys and each signs a record of the interaction, which is added to both devices’ ledgers. That proves the devices were near each other at that moment. Each link in the chain uses a temporary key pair that is deleted after signing, so the chain cannot be forged or extended once it breaks. The result is Proof of Origin: a trail that shows a data point came from one source and was not altered.
Proof of Location applies the same idea to place: if many independent devices witness each other at a location, the network can assign a confidence score to the claim that something was there. XYO Network still lists Proof of Origin, Proof of Location and Ground-Truth Validation among its core technologies, together with a consensus algorithm it calls Proof of Perfect.
Data Storage: IPFS and XYO’s Sovereignty Model
In the 2018 design, Archivists could keep the data they returned, and the technical overview said this “can easily be done through IPFS or another decentralized storage solution.” IPFS was an option, not a requirement. Today XYO Network lists Data Lakes, its cryptographic storage layer, among its core technologies.
In September 2026 XYO added a storage partner for large files. On September 28, FinTech Weekly reported that XYO had connected XYO Layer One with Auto Drive, the decentralized storage platform of Autonomys: images and sensor data go to Auto Drive, while XYO Layer One records signed, verifiable proofs tied to that data. “XYO Layer One is built for data-heavy applications, but not every piece of data belongs directly on-chain,” Arie Trouw said. The project’s sovereignty model means that data owners, not a central company, control and can sell the data their devices produce.
XYO Token and Dual-Token Economics
XYO uses two tokens. XYO is the structural token: holders stake it to help secure XYO Layer One and take part in governance, and it is the token users earn in the COIN app. XL1 is the activity token: it pays gas, settlement and rewards on XYO Layer One, and it can be bridged between XYO Layer One and Ethereum, according to the official site.
XYO’s supply is almost fully in circulation. CoinMarketCap shows about 13.87 billion XYO circulating out of a maximum supply of about 13.93 billion, or about 99.5%, and it tracks no future XYO unlocks. Earlier versions of this page said XYO had no hard cap; that was wrong, because CoinMarketCap and the project list a fixed maximum. XL1 is a separate token with a supply of 38 billion, part of which is still vesting for the team, advisors and contractors under the schedule the project reports to CoinMarketCap.
XYO is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum (contract 0x55296f69f40ea6d20e478533c15a6b08b654e758) and also has a version on Solana. XL1 is a different asset, so buyers should check which token and network they are using before sending funds.
XYO Layer 1 Blockchain: The 2025 Infrastructure Upgrade
XYO launched XYO Layer One in September 2025, and CoinMarketCap began tracking XL1 on September 16, 2025. The official site calls XYO Layer One “a unified, scalable, and shared blockchain” built for AI and robotics, and lists an explorer, a dApp showcase, staking, a bridge to Ethereum and a Chrome wallet extension.
The upgrade moved XYO from a token that mainly lived on Ethereum to a project with its own chain for storing data proofs. Developers can anchor proofs of where and when something happened on XYO Layer One, while the underlying files can sit in storage such as Autonomys’ Auto Drive. In May 2026, XYO also presented an AI developer kit for XYO Layer One that it says lets developers build apps without blockchain skills.
The new chain has not lifted the price so far. Both XYO and XL1 fell in 2026, and XL1 was about 95% below its launch-day high in late October, according to CoinMarketCap data.
The COIN App: XYO’s Consumer On-Ramp
The COIN app, launched in 2019 for iOS and Android, is how most people meet XYO. Users collect in-app rewards from digital location tiles as they move around, which turns their phones into data-collecting nodes, and they can redeem the rewards for XYO, other crypto assets or physical products, according to XY Labs’ filings with the SEC. Paid subscriptions unlock premium features.
COIN is also XY Labs’ main business. In its annual report for 2022, the company said COIN-related sales made up 99.6% of its net sales of about $14.6 million, and that the XYO Network provides data validation for the app. The app is the main reason XYO can claim more than 10 million nodes, a figure the project reports itself and that has not been independently audited.
XYO’s Corporate Structure and Regulatory Milestones
XY Labs, Inc. is a Delaware corporation based in San Diego. It began in 2012 as Ength Degree LLC, was renamed “XY, The Findables Company” in 2016 and “XY, The Persistent Company” in 2018, and took its current name in May 2021, according to its SEC filings.
- Regulation A: XY Labs has sold shares to the public under Regulation A, the SEC exemption for smaller public offerings, starting with an offering circular filed in June 2016, and it files annual and semiannual reports on Forms 1-K and 1-SA.
- tZERO listing: the company’s Class A common stock was listed for trading on tZERO’s alternative trading system on September 14, 2022, under the symbol XYLB. The filing describes a listing of the shares, not a separate token.
- SEC case in 2022: in July 2022, the SEC’s insider trading complaint against a former Coinbase employee and two others named XYO among crypto assets it alleged were securities. XY Labs said it was not a party to that case and was not accused of violating securities laws.
- Custody and listings: on July 27, 2026, Crypto.com said XYO had chosen Crypto.com Custody for institutional custody of XYO and XL1, and Revolut added XYO to its platform in December 2025.
XYO News in 2026: What Changed Since 2025
Since the XYO Layer One launch in 2025, XYO has added partners and products, but trading has thinned and the price has fallen.

XYO rose about 150-fold in 2021 during the altcoin boom, then lost most of that gain in the 2022 bear market. After a strong 2024, it fell about 75% in 2025 and is down about 37% so far in 2026, so it trades about 96% below its all-time high but still about 31 times above its 2020 low. XYO trades about 12% below both its 50-day and 200-day moving averages (about $0.0034 each), according to CoinCodex.
XYO Price Prediction Overview

| 2029 | $0.0040 | $0.0043 |
| 2030 | $0.0037 (headline target $0.0039) | $0.0063 |
| 2040 | $0.0084 | $0.0511 |
Sources: CoinCodex (updated 08:51 UTC, November 4, 2026) and CoinLore (updated 10:19 UTC, November 4, 2026). These are third-party model estimates, not investment advice.
CoinCodex expects XYO to end 2026 near $0.0038, about 26% above the current price, and its December averages rise to about $0.0076 in 2028 before easing back to about $0.0037 in 2030. CoinLore’s base case of $0.0020 for the end of 2026 would be a fall of about 32%, while its bull case of $0.0121 would be about four times today’s price. For 2030, the central estimates range from about $0.0037 to $0.0063. Neither model’s central estimate returns XYO to its $0.082 record by 2040; only CoinLore’s bull cases pass it, starting with $0.087 for 2035. An earlier version of this section quoted figures for a different token; the table above is specific to XYO. Our XYO price prediction analysis covers the year-by-year forecasts and the $0.1 question in more detail, and our longer-term XYO forecast looks at the 2026, 2027 and 2030 outlook.
Is XYO a Good Investment?
That depends on your view of XYO’s data business and your tolerance for risk. The case for XYO rests on real products (the COIN app, XYO Layer One, an AI developer kit), a supply that is almost fully in circulation, a company that reports to the SEC, and 2026 deals with Crypto.com, Theta, Gate and Autonomys. Listings on Coinbase, Kraken and Revolut make it easy to buy in many countries.
The case against is just as clear. XYO trades about 96% below its 2021 high and about 62% below its January 2026 peak, trading volume is thin at about $3.1 million a day, the new XL1 token has lost most of its value since launch, and the node count and usage figures come from the project itself. XY Labs’ business has relied almost entirely on COIN app sales, so XYO Layer One still has to show that outside customers will pay for verified data. Further losses are possible, and XYO is a small-cap token that can move sharply in either direction. This page is not investment advice.
How to Buy XYO
- Choose a platform. XYO trades on Coinbase (XYO/USD), Kraken (XYO/USD and XYO/EUR), KuCoin, Gate, MEXC, HTX and Crypto.com, and on Bitvavo, Bithumb and in the Revolut app. CoinMarketCap lists no XYO market on Binance or Upbit, and availability depends on your country. Our guide to the best crypto exchanges compares fees and features.
- Create and verify an account. Most centralized exchanges require identity verification (KYC) before you can deposit money.
- Deposit funds and buy. Fund the account with a bank transfer, card or stablecoins, then search for XYO and place an order on a USD, EUR or USDT pair.
- Or swap on a decentralized exchange. With a self-custody wallet such as MetaMask, you can swap for XYO on Uniswap on Ethereum, or on Raydium on Solana with a Solana wallet. Check the contract address against the official XYO Network website first, to avoid look-alike tokens.
- Store it safely. Leave XYO on the exchange only if you trust it, or withdraw it to a wallet that supports the right network. Our crypto wallets guide explains the options, and our guide on how to verify crypto news and rumors helps you check listing or partnership claims before acting on them.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is XYO crypto?
XYO crypto is the token of XYO Network, a decentralized physical infrastructure network founded in 2018 that collects and verifies real-world data such as location. Devices and phones act as nodes that witness and sign data, and the project says it has more than 10 million of them. Since September 2025 it runs its own blockchain, XYO Layer One, with XL1 as the gas token.
What is XYO coin used for?
XYO coin is staked to help secure XYO Layer One and is used in governance. It is also the reward users earn in the COIN app, and in the original design it paid the devices and servers that supplied data for a query. Since the XYO Layer One launch, the separate XL1 token pays gas, settlement and rewards on the chain.
What is the XYO coin price today?
XYO traded near $0.0030 at 10:53 UTC on November 4, 2026, according to CoinMarketCap, with a market cap of about $41.6 million and a rank of #406. It was up about 2.9% over 24 hours but down about 37% since the end of 2025 and about 96% below its all-time high of $0.082 from November 2021.
How many XYO coins are there?
CoinMarketCap shows about 13.87 billion XYO in circulation out of a maximum supply of about 13.93 billion, so about 99.5% of all XYO already circulates and no large unlocks are tracked. XYO does have a hard cap, despite claims to the contrary. XL1, the gas token of XYO Layer One, is a separate token with its own supply of 38 billion.
What is XL1 and how is it different from XYO?
XL1 is the activity token of XYO Layer One, the blockchain XYO launched in September 2025. It pays for gas, settlement and rewards and can be bridged to Ethereum. XYO is the structural token that holders stake to secure the network. The two trade separately, and XL1 has lost most of its value since its launch-day high.
Who founded XYO Network?
XYO Network was created by XY Labs, a San Diego company formerly called “XY, The Findables Company”. Arie Trouw is its co-founder and chief executive, and Markus Levin is a co-founder. The company has raised money from the public under the SEC’s Regulation A exemption since 2016, and its shares were listed on tZERO’s trading system in September 2022 under the symbol XYLB.
Is XYO a good investment?
That depends on your risk tolerance and your view of XYO’s data business. Supporters point to the COIN app, XYO Layer One, a fixed and almost fully circulating supply, and 2026 deals with Crypto.com, Theta, Gate and Autonomys. Critics point to a 96% fall from the 2021 high, thin trading volume, a weak XL1 token and usage figures that come from the project itself.
How to buy XYO crypto?
Open an account on an exchange that lists XYO, such as Coinbase, Kraken, KuCoin or Gate, complete identity checks, deposit funds and buy on an XYO/USD, XYO/EUR or XYO/USDT pair. You can also swap for XYO on Uniswap or Raydium with a self-custody wallet, after checking the contract address on the official XYO Network website.
Where to buy XYO, and is it on Binance?
XYO trades on Coinbase, Kraken, KuCoin, Gate, MEXC, HTX, Crypto.com, Bitvavo and Bithumb, and Revolut added it in December 2025. CoinMarketCap lists no XYO market on Binance or Upbit as of November 2026. Availability varies by country, so check each platform’s supported assets, and make sure your wallet supports Ethereum or Solana.
What makes XYO different from other DePIN tokens?
XYO focuses on verifying where and when real-world events happened rather than on renting out storage, computing or wireless coverage. Its bound witness design has devices sign each other’s data, and its COIN app brings in mainstream phone users as nodes. It also has a company behind it that files public reports with the SEC under Regulation A.
