Associated Press, also known as AP, has announced that it will provide data to Chainlink decentralized oracle network.
The AP has continued to be aggressive in utilizing blockchain technology to provide data. The goal is to be the quickest and use most reliable way possible. In today’s world, news is arriving to consumer’s eyes and ears faster than ever. The Associated Press’ move this week to leverage Chainlink oracles will look to address exactly that, all while maintaining the verifiability and legitimacy of the data.
Announcement of Associated Press or AP, said that smart contract developers will get access to the agency’s “business, sports and racing call data” after this button works. According to the AP, it will publish data on the chain so that developers can access and refer to it in all related applications. In addition to information about upcoming elections and support for artists working in the industry.
“Chainlink technology is the ideal way to give smart contract developers anywhere in the world direct, on-demand access to valuable business, sports and racing call data. The trust of AP,” said Dwayne Desaulniers, Director of Data and Blockchain Licensing at AP. “By working with Chainlink, this information can be compatible with any blockchain.”
This work with the project Chainlink is a continuation of AP’s industry-leading foray into blockchain-based markets. AP collaborated with Everipedia to publish U.S. race calls on the Ethereum blockchain in 2020. The news agency sold the first media NFT in early 2021 and continues to tokenize news for collectors. Most recently, AP broke new ground by delivering data to feed and inform digital generative artworks.
This is not the first time that Associated Press has ventured into the blockchain. In 2020, the firm partnered with Everipedia to publish US race calls on the Ethereum (ETH/USD) blockchain. Earlier this year, the news agency also sold its first media NFT. It is still actively engaged in this to ensure collectors have access to tokenized news.
