Mercuryo, a UK crypto startup, has collaborated with payment gateway Volt to allow open banking payments for Mercuryo’s wallet
Mercuryo & Volt Partnership
Mercuryo, a cryptocurrency payments platform, has introduced open banking payments within its cryptocurrency wallet, which is used by over two million people worldwide. The open payments gateway Volt will support real-time account-to-account payments (A2A). Providing Mercuryo wallet users and their business partners with single-click payment options through fiat.
Mercuryo users will now be able to purchase cryptocurrency in real time via an Open Banking account-to-account transfer, with funds leaving their bank account and their purchased crypto being deposited directly into their Mercuryo wallet in a timely manner, thanks to the collaboration with Volt. This is likely to be welcomed by customers who want to buy cryptocurrencies quickly, at a specified price, and at a specific time. Another benefit is an unlimited transfer amount, which several cards have made available to users when they purchase cryptocurrencies.
Moreover, with the implementation of SCA requirements on card transactions on both sides of the English Channel, an additional security step has been introduced to the card payment process. While many people have welcomed this verification process, it is probable that it will make Open Banking payments more appealing in the long term, since it will provide a possibly faster, safer, and more comfortable payment experience. Mercuryo’s current collaboration with Volt comes on the heels of their latest expansion into Latin America, with the company expecting to build ten additional regional offices in Africa, South America, and Asia by 2022.
