Together, the Polkadot ecosystem and Web3 Foundation have launched a new cooperation to advance the decentralized web
Web3 Foundation & Zondax Partnership
The partnership among Zondax and the Web3 Foundation is a watershed moment in the Polkadot ecosystem’s development. Two years have passed since the original version of this ecosystem was released in May 2022, and it has seen tremendous success and growth. As a result, the Web3 Foundation believes it is fair to provide all Polkadot parachain auction slot winners with a native application for the Ledger hardware wallet as a thank you for their participation.
A strategic long-term collaboration with Zondax, according to the Web3 Foundation’s formal release, has been established, the organization said. Zondax blockchain is a forward-thinking software developer, and the Web3 Foundation hopes to benefit from its recent agreement by gaining access to cutting-edge technology.
This comprises the first batch of projects that have been selected to get Ledger software for marketing purpose, as well as the first round of auction winners from the Polkadot parachains auctions. Acala, Astar, Clover, Moonbeam, and Parallel are among the first-place winners in this category. Zondax will provide the winners with three software development kits for the Ledger app, which will be released by the company. The first of them will be the fundamental bundle, which will be provided for free. The other two modules are standard and bespoke, and they will only be released if and when the qualifying protocol requests that they be deployed.
The company also develops cutting-edge end-to-end software for a number of exchanges, hardware wallets, privacy coins, and DeFi protocols, among other applications. After that, the partnership between Zondax and the Web3 Foundation will be in place until June 30, 2023, at the latest.
Quotes
The founder of Zondax, Juan Leni, emphasizes that this relationship is completely in line with the vision and objective of Polkadot (DOT) and its ecosystem of parachains: “Thus, I am very excited to see Zondax and Web3 joining hands and creating a Web 3.0 future together as our values align well. I believe this exclusive collaboration will mark yet another milestone in interconnected blockchain technology, leading us to the dawn of a future parachain ecosystem. As envisioned in the Polkadot paper, together, we are searching for a system capable of achieving global-commerce levels of scalability and privacy.”
Micha Benoliel, CEO and founder of Nodle, a winner of Polkadot’s parachain auction, is confident that the aforementioned integration will help his team meet the milestones outlined in its roadmap: “Zondax has been a key partner for Nodle and provided us with a secure and reliable Ledger application for storing Nodle Cash tokens in the safest manner. Hardware wallet support is a key feature on the Nodle roadmap as we want to ensure our token holders have the best options available to secure their holdings.”
Polkadot founder Dr. Gavin Wood has explained: “The heterogeneous nature of this (parachain) architecture enables many highly divergent types of consensus systems interoperating in a trustless, fully decentralized ‘federation,’ allowing open and closed networks to have trust-free access to each other.”
Lucas Vogelsang, CEO of parachain project Centrifuge, said: “Zondax is a leader in developing Ledger apps, and we’re excited to benefit from their extensive experience. Wallet security is extremely important to us, and the Centrifuge Ledger app lets users securely receive, hold, and send Centrifuge (CFG). We’re also thrilled that Centrifuge secured a parachain slot on Polkadot. For the last 12 months, we’ve been laser-focused on a roadmap to bring real-world assets to the Polkadot ecosystem. With this next stage of our growth journey, Centrifuge can expand the entire DeFi industry by bringing millions of assets to Polkadot – all with lightning-fast transaction speeds.”
