Earthfund, a decentralized platform that allows the setting up of funding DAOs by anyone, will be launching its DAO-as-a-service platform, aimed to make funding easier for projects with real world changing causes, on June 15th, 2022.
EarthFundDAO is Launching Its DAO-as-a-service Platform
With a lot of happenings going on lately, the idea of creating a Decentralized Autonomous Organization, also known as DAO, to help make funding easier for projects with real-world changing causes has now become a big deal. Recent stories such as UkraineDAO and previous attempts that situational and ultimately might not be that impactful have proven that the power of incentives and the force of cryptocurrency can be a great help.
Although, setting up a funding DAO was a strict task for even experienced Solidity developers and a class of programmers in particularly short supply. Regular companies and individuals were unable to set up the infrastructure needed for a funding DAO, which limited the potential impact of the technology.
However, with EarthFund now coming into play, this situation is less of an obstacle as the situation changes completely. Everyone or anyone can now use their intuitive UI to set up funding DAO for a cause they care about to attract funds and offer token holders a real say in the project and the inducement needed to turn that dream into reality.
The EarthFund toolkit is made for participants of three classes in DAO initiatives. Which are, for founders, users, and donors. For founders, it offers an intuitive, plug-and-play platform that enables the launch of an ERC-20 token and DAO with gasless governance. For users, the platform gives rewards for using their voice and voting to progress the cause they have committed to. And for donors, EarthFund offers a place to donate cryptocurrency to people who are dedicated to vetting projects and making sure the funds makes as massive impact as possible.
Deepak Chopra Leading One Of The First Pilots
The launch brings pilot initiatives by Deepak Chopra, who will focus on raising funds for mental health projects around the world, and Dr. Lucy Tweed, who will be responsible for the launch of the Carbon Removal cause to support community-led carbon removal projects.
Chopra made a statement, saying: “We’re seeing a shift in the crypto space from a focus on short-term profits to using it to build a better future for everybody. That’s why we partnered with EarthFund to launch our NeverAlone token and democratize and decentralize the way that projects focused on tackling the mental health crisis get the funding they need to make a difference. By launching causes like ours, the EarthFund platform won’t just change the crypto space, but make the whole world a better, happier place.”
EarthFund is focused on its aim to solve several issues that have disenchanted people from not just donating but also to causes that are worth it. Chief among them is the accountability of funds, with charities usually taking between the range of 26% and 87% of donated funds for “administrative” purposes, while the remains are deployed as the creators see fit. The decentralized governance model, and also the transparency of the blockchain ecosystem, can now make a dramatic impact on charity giving efficiency.
Co-Founder of EarthFund, Adam Boalt, said. “We think crypto has an unparalleled opportunity to be a massive force for good, but it hasn’t been fully adopted yet mainly because of usability. So far, crypto-native folks have spent their energy on often frivolous causes, such as trying to buy a piece of paper or a virtual monkey profile picture, but with EarthFund, we’re focused on making crypto accessible so everyone can harness its potential and help truly world-changing causes to get the funding they deserve.”
