Easier access to on-chain data with Subsquid data lakes can help developers use Neon EVM to the fullest.
Web3 data lake and query engine Subsquid announces the upcoming partnership with Solana-powered Neon EVM to provide dApp developers easier access to Neon EVM’s on-chain data. The partnership marks the first step in Subsquid’s long-awaited expansion to the Solana blockchain.Â
Subsquid is an innovative decentralized data lake and query engine built with utility and scalability in mind. Subsquid provides a secure alternative to centralized infrastructure firms like API providers. It offers blockchain indexing, app development, and analytics, and its list of partners includes Manta Network, Parity, and Enjin. The network offers support to Ethereum and its L2s and Substrate (Polkadot and Kusama), and now, with the collaboration with Neon EVM, it will expand to Solana.Â
As part of the partnership, Subsquid will add on-chain data from Neon EVM to its decentralized data lake secured by ZK proofs. This will facilitate access to existing information for anyone building dApps on Neon, making the job easier for developers.Â
Neon EVM is a fully Ethereum-compatible environment running as a smart contract created on Solana. It offers Ethereum solutions, including accounts and signatures, tools and infrastructure, and token standards (ERC-20 tokens) without the hassle traditionally associated with Ethereum: high gas fees, limited liquidity, and long waiting times. Since Neon EVM runs on Solana, it provides better liquidity, scalability, quick transactions, lower costs, and unique features not available on Ethereum.Â
The expansion to the Solana network has been an important step on Subsquid’s roadmap for the first quarter of 2024. While Solana expansion is checked off Subsquid’s to-do list for 2024, the platform still has plans to announce more changes this year, including the launch of a mainnet, Cosmos support, and permissionless dataset submission.
About Subsquid
Subsquid Network is a distributed query engine and data lake around which the Subsquid ecosystem is built. It offers developers permissionless, cost-efficient access to on-chain data from over 100 chains and is integrated into a large ecosystem of Web2- and Web3-native developer tools.
About Neon EVM
Neon EVM is an Ethereum Virtual Machine operating as a smart contract on Solana that accepts transaction requests via public PRC endpoints. It gives developers the power to directly deploy Ethereum dApps with minimal reconfiguration to the code while benefiting from Solana’s technical advantages such as parallel processing. It is built with security, decentralization, and sustainability as core tenants.
