Quick Answer: Amp (AMP) trades near $0.00073 as of October 28, 2026, with a market cap of about $65 million (#315 on CoinMarketCap). It is down about 61% since the end of 2025 and about 99.4% below its all-time high of $0.121 from June 2021, although it has roughly doubled since setting a new all-time low of $0.000357 on August 19. CoinCodex, the only current forecast model we use, puts AMP at about $0.00061 at the end of 2026 and about $0.00031 in December 2030, both below today’s price. AMP is the collateral token behind Flexa’s crypto payments network.
Amp is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum that Flexa, a US payments company, developed with Consensys in 2020. Flexa uses AMP as collateral that guarantees crypto payments to merchants while they settle. In 2026, Flexa named a new chief executive, refocused on regulated crypto and stablecoin payments and expanded to Europe. The token fell in each of the first seven months of the year, losing about 79%, then rose about 85% from the end of July.
This update covers the current AMP price, how Flexa uses the token, the 2022 SEC case, forecasts for 2026 to 2050 and what it would take for AMP to reach $0.01 or $1.
Key Takeaways
- AMP trades about 99.4% below its all-time high of $0.121, set on June 16, 2021, and at about twice its all-time low of $0.000357 from August 19, 2026
- The token is down about 61% since the end of 2025 and about 72% from a year ago; it fell in every month from January to July, then rose in August, September and October so far
- AMP is collateral for Flexa payments: holders pool it in Flexa Capacity and earn monthly AMP rewards when Flexa uses it to secure transfers; amp.xyz shows about $15.1 million pooled
- Flexa’s 2026 news centered on a new chief executive, regulated crypto and stablecoin payments and a launch across Europe; none of those announcements described a new role for AMP
- In 2022, an SEC insider-trading complaint alleged that AMP was a “crypto asset security”; Flexa was not a defendant, and the SEC said a March 2024 judgment concluded the case
- CoinCodex, the only current model we use, puts AMP at about $0.00061 at the end of 2026 and $0.00031 in December 2030

Sources: CoinMarketCap, CoinGecko and Etherscan. CoinGecko shows the same supply but ranks AMP #380 and lists an all-time high of $0.1208 and an all-time low of $0.000356. This article measures the year-to-date change from the December 31, 2025 close; CoinMarketCap’s own figure starts from the January 1 close and shows a decline of about 66%. The fully diluted value uses the 99.72 billion AMP that the token contract reports, because Flexa describes AMP as a fixed-supply asset; CoinMarketCap’s figure of about $72.5 million uses the full 100 billion cap.
What Is Amp (AMP) and How Does Flexa Use It?
Amp (AMP) is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum that its official site describes as “a universal collateral token designed to facilitate fast and efficient transfers for any real-world application.” It was “originally developed in 2020 by Flexa and Consensys,” according to Flexa, and succeeded Flexacoin, a token that the SEC says Flexa first developed in February 2018.
Flexa is a payments company that lets merchants accept digital assets, and its site says “Collateralization ensures payments complete in less than a second.” That collateral is AMP. While a customer’s crypto payment settles on its own network, AMP is held in escrow by what the Amp documentation calls a collateral manager, and “Once the transaction successfully settles, the Amp collateral is released,” the documentation says. Flexa says it guarantees “funds at time of payment, with no chargebacks or unexpected reversals.”
Flexa calls AMP “the only neutral, independent, and fixed-supply asset reserved exclusively for collateral use cases.” In 2023, Flexa handed stewardship of the Amp ecosystem to the Acronym Foundation, according to a June 2026 Flexa release. More background is available on the official Amp website.
How AMP Staking (Collateral Pools) Works
Flexa calls its collateral system Flexa Capacity. “Flexa Capacity holds the onchain collateral that backstops and secures 100% of the digital asset volume processed by Flexa,” the company says, and that collateral “is stored and denominated in Amp (AMP).” Each network or app that Flexa enables has its own collateral pool.
“Whenever Flexa uses collateral to secure a transfer, the providers of that collateral earn pro-rata, time-weighted Amp rewards,” Flexa says. Rewards are paid monthly, and addresses that stay in a pool longer receive a larger share. Flexa also runs monthly boosts of up to twice the normal rewards for selected pools. Its Capacity page does not say where the reward tokens come from.
The current version, Capacity v3, launched in February 2025. It moved collateral to a new vault contract, made rewards instantly withdrawable and set an unlock delay of 12 to 24 hours after a holder asks to withdraw. Flexa warns that “pooling collateral carries inherent risks. You should only ever provide collateral you can afford to lose.” The amp.xyz homepage shows about $15.1 million pooled, roughly 21 billion AMP or about 23% of the circulating supply at the price shown on the same page, and about $5.0 million in rewards issued.
Amp News: What Has Happened in 2025 and 2026
New leadership at Flexa. On June 18, Flexa said one of its cofounders would replace its chief executive and that its chief legal officer would also become president. The release said the company’s next phase would focus on “regulated money movement of crypto and stablecoins” and that Flexa had secured 40 money transmission licenses in the US. Its only reference to AMP was the 2023 handover of ecosystem stewardship to the Acronym Foundation.
Europe launch. On July 8, Flexa said it was now live across Europe, with “settlement available across the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA)” and service in “37 additional countries and territories.” It said a Polish unit was formed in anticipation of the EU’s MiCA rules, but named no license, merchant or token. Flexa’s newsroom has posted nothing since.
Stablecoins and merchants in 2025. Flexa’s 2025 announcements included Tap to Pay for hardware wallets in February, payments inside social wallet “mini apps” in July, checkout with the USDC stablecoin through Base Pay on October 16 and a partnership with the US retailer Bealls on October 20 to offer digital currency payments “at its stores nationwide.” Flexa says its AMP collateral secures all of the digital asset volume it processes, but we found no regular volume figures from Flexa.
Supply count rises. CoinMarketCap’s count of circulating AMP rose by about 2.5 billion on April 13 and 3.0 billion on June 19, from about 84.3 billion to 89.8 billion, an increase of about 6.5%. We found no official explanation. CoinMarketCap’s self-reported unlock data list the next release from a Flexa treasury allocation, about 75 million AMP, for November 28.
AMP and the SEC: The 2022 Insider-Trading Case
On July 21, 2022, the SEC charged a former Coinbase product manager and two other people with insider trading ahead of Coinbase listing announcements. According to the SEC’s announcement, the manager allegedly tipped off his brother and a friend, who allegedly bought “at least 25 crypto assets, at least nine of which were securities.” The complaint names AMP as one of the nine. The complaint states: “As alleged further below, AMP was a crypto asset security.” It alleges that “Investors in Flexacoin/AMP had a reasonable expectation of profits based on the efforts of others.”
Flexa was not a defendant. Coinbase, which listed AMP, responded the same day in a post titled “Coinbase does not list securities. End of story.” It said “Seven of the nine assets included in the SEC’s charges are listed on Coinbase’s platform.” AMP closed about 2% lower that day and about 11% lower by July 26, 2022.
The case ended without a trial. In May 2023, the former manager and his brother agreed to settle and, as part of the settlement, “not to deny the SEC’s allegations.” On March 11, 2024, the SEC said a default judgment against the third defendant “concludes the litigation in this matter.” Coinbase still offers AMP against the US dollar, and CoinMarketCap still tags the token as an “Alleged SEC Securities” asset.

| August 19, 2026 | All-time low of $0.000357 |
| October 28, 2026 | About $0.00073 |
AMP rose more than sevenfold in 2021. On June 16, 2021, it reached its all-time high of $0.121 intraday and closed at $0.109, when its market cap reached about $4.6 billion, the highest we found. It dipped below $0.01 intraday on May 12, 2022, and lost 94% that year. A late 2024 rally lifted its daily close back above $0.01 on seven days in December 2024, the last on December 15, before AMP lost 75% in 2025. CoinMarketCap’s count of circulating AMP has more than doubled since 2021, so market caps from different years are not directly comparable.
In 2026, AMP rose about 14% on January 1 on about $93 million of volume and reached $0.00267 intraday on January 7, its high for the year. It fell 17% on February 5, when Bitcoin dropped about 14%, and lost 39% in June, its worst month. AMP declined for seven months in a row and hit its all-time low of $0.000357 on August 19. September was its best month, with a gain of about 42%, including a 62% jump on September 26 on about $115 million of volume, the year’s highest, followed by a 20% drop the next day. We found no announcement that coincided with the move. AMP is up about 14% for October through October 27 and reached $0.000955 intraday on October 19.
AMP Crypto Price Prediction 2026
We track six forecast providers and tried the AMP pages of five. Two have current AMP forecasts, CoinCodex and CoinDataFlow, and we use only CoinCodex:
| Source | Status on October 28, 2026 | Used |
|---|---|---|
| CoinCodex | Updated October 28; price used $0.000724 | Yes |
| CoinLore | Lists AMP as inactive, with no price data since August 25 | No |
| CoinDataFlow | Updated October 28, but its figures contradict each other | No |
| Changelly | Its AMP price page links to a prediction article that we could not open | No |
| BeInCrypto | AMP page could not be opened | No |
| Source | Low | Average | High |
|---|---|---|---|
| CoinCodex (December 2026; headline target $0.0006043) | $0.0006043 | $0.0006073 | $0.0006104 |
CoinCodex expects AMP to drift lower, with a December average of about $0.00061, about 17% below today’s price. Its headline end-of-year target of $0.0006043 is the bottom of its December range. We do not use CoinDataFlow. Its AMP page, updated October 28, contradicts itself: the 2027 price that its title presents as the upper target is the 2027 average in its own table, which shows a higher 2027 high, and the page states two different gains for 2029.
AMP trades about 18% above its 50-day moving average of $0.000612 and about 21% above its 200-day average of $0.000598, with a 14-day RSI of about 52, according to CoinCodex.
Central 2026 estimate: about $0.00061 (CoinCodex’s December average).
AMP Price Prediction 2027 to 2029
| Year (CoinCodex monthly range) | Low | Average | High |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2027 | $0.000399 | $0.000545 | $0.000716 |
| 2028 | $0.000210 | $0.000314 | $0.000394 |
| 2029 | $0.000161 | $0.000183 | $0.000217 |
CoinCodex’s central path keeps falling after 2026. Its 2027 average of about $0.00055 is about 25% below today’s price, and its 2028 and 2029 averages are about 57% and 75% lower. The path reaches its low, about $0.00016, in November 2029, about 78% below today’s price. Models of this kind are built mainly on past prices, so AMP’s decline in 2026 weighs heavily on them.
AMP Price Prediction 2030
| Source | Low | Average | High |
|---|---|---|---|
| CoinCodex (2030 monthly range; headline target $0.0003218) | $0.000180 | $0.000239 | $0.000322 |
CoinCodex’s path recovers during 2030 but stays below today’s price. Its December 2030 average of about $0.00031 would be a fall of about 57%, and its headline 2030 target of $0.0003218, the top of its December range, a fall of about 56%.
All forecasts are third-party model estimates, not investment advice.
AMP Price Prediction 2040 and 2050
Long-range forecasts are highly speculative. CoinCodex’s December averages first rise above today’s price in 2036, at about $0.00079, and pass $0.001 in 2039. Its 2040 target of $0.001312 would be a gain of about 80%, and its 2050 target of about $0.0040 would be about 5.5 times today’s price.
What Drives the AMP Price?
- Flexa payment volume: AMP’s main use is as collateral for Flexa payments, and pool providers earn rewards only when Flexa uses that collateral.
- Collateral pools: about 23% of the circulating supply sits in collateral pools, by our calculation from the figures on amp.xyz, and withdrawals take 12 to 24 hours to unlock.
- Supply: about 90% of the total supply already circulates, but CoinMarketCap’s count rose about 6.5% this year.
- Exchange access: AMP trades on Binance and Coinbase but not on Kraken or OKX, and Upbit lists it only against USDT, with little trading. Turkish lira pairs made up about a third of volume across its 25 largest markets on October 28, and its 24-hour volume is about 36% of its 2026 daily average.
- Regulation: CoinMarketCap still labels AMP an alleged security after the 2022 SEC complaint, and Flexa’s own growth depends on payment licenses.
- The wider market: like most altcoins, AMP tends to move with Bitcoin and overall risk appetite, as on February 5, when AMP fell 17% and Bitcoin about 14%. Our Bitcoin price prediction covers the market leader.
Can AMP Reach $0.01 or $1?
Not on CoinCodex’s figures, which stay below $0.005 through 2050. AMP last closed above $0.01 on December 15, 2024. Its all-time high of $0.121 came on June 16, 2021, when it closed at $0.109. With about 89.8 billion AMP in circulation, each price level implies a market cap that can be compared with other coins.
| AMP Price | Market Cap Needed | Multiple of Today’s Price | For Comparison |
|---|---|---|---|
| $0.001 | About $90M | About 1.4x | Below IOTA ($199M) today; AMP last closed above $0.001 on April 1, 2026 |
| $0.01 | About $898M | About 13.8x | Between Dash ($694M) and Algorand ($942M) today |
| $0.0512 | About $4.6B | About 71x | AMP’s peak market cap (June 16, 2021); just above Litecoin ($4.5B) today |
| $0.121 (ATH) | About $10.9B | About 167x | Between Chainlink ($8.8B) and Dogecoin ($13.8B) today |
| $1 | About $89.8B | About 1,380x | Between XRP ($84.1B) and BNB ($99.2B) today |
At $0.01, AMP’s circulating market cap would be about $898 million and its fully diluted value about $1.0 billion, roughly a fifth of its 2021 peak market cap. At $1, it would need about $89.8 billion, about 19.5 times that peak. Because CoinMarketCap’s circulating count has risen from about 42.2 billion in 2021 to 89.8 billion, the 2021 peak market cap of about $4.6 billion would now correspond to a price of about $0.051, less than half of the $0.109 close on the day of the all-time high. A higher price would need more payments secured by Flexa, more AMP pooled as collateral and a strong altcoin market. Our Litecoin price prediction covers another payments-focused coin.
Key Risks of AMP
- Deep drawdown: AMP trades about 99.4% below its 2021 high and about 72% lower than a year ago, and it set a new all-time low in August 2026
- Indirect link to Flexa’s growth: Flexa’s 2026 announcements did not describe a new role for AMP, and we found no regular data from Flexa on payments secured by AMP
- Supply changes: CoinMarketCap’s circulating count rose by about 5.5 billion AMP in two steps this year, and we found no official explanation
- Concentration: the 10 largest addresses hold about 62% of the supply, according to CoinMarketCap
- Regulatory history: the SEC alleged in 2022 that AMP was a security; the case is closed, but CoinMarketCap still tags AMP as an alleged security
- Volatile trading: AMP rose about 62% on September 26 and fell about 20% the next day
- Data gaps: CoinMarketCap’s self-reported unlock data list about 17.2 billion AMP as locked, more than the roughly 9.9 billion gap between circulating and total supply; its circulating count of 89.8 billion, taken from an amp.xyz endpoint, is about 5.5 billion higher than the 84.2 billion it shows as self-reported; and we use only one current forecast model
Where to Buy AMP
AMP has spot markets on major exchanges including Binance (AMP/USDT and AMP/TRY), Coinbase (AMP/USD), Gemini (AMP/USD), Bithumb (AMP/KRW), BtcTurk (AMP/TRY) and Bitvavo (AMP/EUR). CoinMarketCap counts 84 market pairs in all, including markets on KuCoin, MEXC, Gate and WhiteBIT. Kraken and OKX show no AMP market in their public data, and Upbit lists AMP only against USDT, in a market with little trading. Is Amp (AMP) a Good Investment?
That depends on your view of Flexa’s payments business and your tolerance for risk. The bull case rests on AMP’s defined role as the collateral that secures Flexa payments, a fixed supply that is about 90% in circulation, Flexa’s US licenses and European expansion, listings on Binance and Coinbase, and a rebound of about 103% from the August low. The bear case is that AMP trades about 99.4% below its high, Flexa’s 2026 news did not describe a new role for AMP, the circulating count grew about 6.5% this year, and CoinCodex’s central path stays below today’s price until the mid-2030s.
Further losses are possible. Flexa’s payment volumes, the amount of AMP pooled as collateral, supply changes and the wider altcoin market are the main known factors that could affect AMP over the next year. For more forecasts across the market, see our crypto price predictions.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the AMP crypto price prediction for 2026?
CoinCodex, the only current model we use, expects AMP to end 2026 near $0.00061, its December average, about 17% below the late October price of about $0.00073. Its December range runs from $0.0006043 to $0.0006104. AMP is down about 61% this year, set an all-time low of $0.000357 on August 19 and has since roughly doubled, so short-term forecasts carry wide uncertainty.
What is the AMP price prediction for 2030 and beyond?
CoinCodex’s central path falls to about $0.00016 in late 2029, then recovers to a December 2030 average of about $0.00031, roughly 57% below the late October price. Its December averages first exceed today’s price in 2036. It projects about $0.0013 for 2040 and about $0.0040 for 2050. Long-range figures like these are highly speculative and mostly extrapolate past prices.
Can AMP reach $1?
Not on any model we use; CoinCodex stays below $0.005 through 2050. With about 89.8 billion AMP in circulation, $1 would mean a market cap of about $89.8 billion, between XRP and BNB today, about 1,380 times AMP’s current value and about 19.5 times its 2021 peak. Even $0.01 would need a market cap near $900 million, about 13.8 times today’s.
What is Amp and how does Flexa use it?
Amp is an ERC-20 collateral token that Flexa, a crypto payments company, developed with Consensys in 2020. Flexa uses AMP to guarantee merchant payments: AMP is held in escrow while a customer’s payment settles, then released. Flexa says this collateral secures all the digital asset volume it processes. Since 2023, the Acronym Foundation has stewarded the wider Amp ecosystem, according to Flexa.
How does AMP staking (collateral) work?
Holders supply AMP to Flexa Capacity, where each network or app Flexa supports has its own collateral pool. When Flexa uses that collateral to secure transfers, providers earn time-weighted AMP rewards, paid monthly, with boosts for some pools. Withdrawals unlock 12 to 24 hours after a request. Flexa warns that pooling carries risks and that holders should only provide collateral they can afford to lose.
Is AMP a good investment?
That depends on your risk tolerance and your view of Flexa’s business. Supporters point to AMP’s defined role as Flexa’s payment collateral, a fixed supply and listings on Binance and Coinbase. Critics point to a 99.4% fall from the 2021 high, a new all-time low in August, Flexa’s stablecoin-focused 2026 news and CoinCodex forecasts that stay below today’s price through 2030.
Where can I buy AMP?
AMP trades on exchanges including Binance, Coinbase, Gemini, Bithumb, BtcTurk and Bitvavo. Kraken and OKX show no AMP market in their public data, and Upbit lists it only against USDT, with little trading. Availability depends on your country, so check each platform’s supported assets before buying. AMP is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, so use a wallet that supports Ethereum tokens if you plan to withdraw it.
