Binance Wallet has introduced Pre-Access, a new feature that gives users tokenized exposure to companies before they list on public markets, the exchange’s wallet team announced on X on September 20. The campaigns are hosted by decentralized exchange PancakeSwap and extend Binance’s push into tokenized equities, a category where its bStocks products have already surpassed $500 million in assets under management. The move gives retail users a path to private companies that were previously accessible mainly to accredited investors and venture funds.
What Pre-Access does
Pre-Access offers what Binance describes as indirect tokenized exposure to companies that may go public. Instead of holding shares directly, participants receive tokenized exposure through the PancakeSwap-hosted campaigns, with the underlying assets kept self-custodied in their own wallets. The structure mirrors the tokenized-securities model Binance has built around bStocks, which lets traders buy and sell tokenized shares of companies that are already listed on major exchanges.
PancakeSwap, one of the largest decentralized exchanges by trading volume and a long-standing fixture on BNB Chain, gives Binance’s wallet team an established venue for distributing the campaigns to a broad base of self-custody users.
Boosting participation quotas
Binance said participants can increase their allocation in a campaign through several levers: its Alpha Points loyalty program, on-chain bStocks trading volume, and the size of a user’s existing bStocks holdings. The announcement frames Pre-Access as an expansion of Binance’s tokenized-asset ecosystem, in which users keep control of their assets rather than handing them to a custodial intermediary. That self-custody emphasis sets the feature apart from conventional brokerage-style pre-IPO allocations.
A growing tokenized pre-IPO market
The feature joins a widening field of tokenized pre-IPO products aimed at retail traders. Binance, Bitget and Gate have previously offered SpaceX-linked tokenized products, as detailed in BlockchainReporter’s earlier look at pre-IPO tokenization arriving for retail traders. Pre-Access pushes the same idea one step earlier in the company lifecycle, targeting businesses that have yet to complete an initial public offering.
Binance disclosed the feature through its wallet team’s social account rather than a full exchange release, so details such as which companies will appear first and any participation thresholds have not yet been announced.
