Dubai, United Arab Emirates, March 12th, 2026, Chainwire
Bybit, the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, today announced the integration of Bybit Pay into the Mastercard Crypto Credential network.
With this integration, Bybit Pay users can send and receive digital assets using simple, verified aliases, such as a phone number or an email address. These aliases are issued under Mastercard Crypto Credential standards. The setup also adds more governance rules, which gives every transfer an extra layer of trust and assurance.
Most crypto transfers rely on long wallet addresses. They also show little about who gets the funds. This tool is different. Before a deal starts, it helps check that both sides are real users who meet the rules.
Users can send crypto to an alias that is easy to remember. They can also be more sure that the other wallet supports the chosen coin and network. This helps cut the risk of errors or lost funds before any crypto is sent.
Trust and assurance, built into every transfer
The service is built to make crypto payments clear and consistent. Before any transfer, it checks that the recipient is:
- Signed up to the service
- Checked against its standards, which helps meet the rules
- Able to receive, meaning their wallet supports the chosen coin and network
These checks happen first, so users can feel sure. Funds go to the right person, on the right network, in the right way, before any crypto leaves the wallet.
The deal brings Mastercard’s trusted global payments network and standards to Bybit Pay. Bybit Pay is a new kind of payment tool that makes it simple to pay with cash or crypto. Together, the two firms aim to make crypto transfers safer and easier for users worldwide.
Key features
- Alias-based transfers: Send crypto with a simple alias. There is no need to share long wallet addresses.
- Pre-transaction verification: Checks that the recipient has signed up and can take the chosen coin on the chosen network. If not, the sender gets a notice and the transfer stops.
- Global, multi-chain interoperability: Send to other users on the network across partner exchanges, wallets, and supported blockchains.
- Built-in trust and assurance: Every transfer is checked before it runs. This cuts the risk of fraud, lost funds, and failed payments.
“Crypto should be as easy to use as any other form of payment in our daily lives,” said Sophie Chen, Head of Marketing at Bybit Card and Bybit Pay. “With Mastercard Crypto Credential on Bybit Pay, we’re removing technical barriers that have kept digital assets feeling complicated. Now, sending crypto is as simple as texting a friend: just use their email or phone number, with security built in and zero learning curve.”
“Mastercard is building the connective tissue that makes digital assets usable and trusted at scale,” said Raj Dhamodharan, executive vice president, Blockchain & Digital Assets at Mastercard. “Bringing Bybit into the Mastercard Crypto Credential network expands that foundation, enabling more people to benefit from a consistent, secure way to interact across platforms. It’s another step toward a more unified and reliable digital asset ecosystem.”
How it works on Bybit Pay
Getting started with Mastercard Crypto Credential on Bybit Pay takes just three simple steps:
- Users activate Bybit Pay through the Bybit App.
- They may create their Mastercard Crypto Credential username using their email address or phone number.
- They select their supported blockchain networks.
Once signed up, users can send and receive crypto right away with other users of the service on partner platforms. They just use the alias. Wallet and identity checks happen before funds are sent, which adds peace of mind.
Building the Future of Payment, One Node at a Time
