Real-world assets (RWA) on-chain are no longer a niche corner of DeFi: analytics platforms are now showing substantially larger piles of value shifting into tokenized securities, debt instruments and corporate equity. RWA.xyz, a leading tracker for tokenized assets, lists total on-chain RWA in the tens of billions and shows Ethereum occupying more than half of that market, comfortably ahead of second-place ZKSync Era and the rest of the pack.
“RWA TVL continues to climb. Ethereum remains the clear leader with 50%+ of the market. Recent standouts: Solana and Arbitrum. Arbitrum’s RWA TVL stands out specifically, growing by over 180% in the past month. The growth was boosted by Exodus Movement, Inc., a U.S. public company tokenizing its equity as $EXOD,” Sentora wrote on X.
Part of the headline-grabbing movement is Arbitrum’s sudden sprint. Data compiled by industry outlets and DeFi trackers point to a dramatic month-over-month uplift in Arbitrum’s RWA TVL, figures referenced in market snapshots and platform leaderboards show growth rates in the hundreds of percent, with analysts tying much of the jump to new corporate stock-token issuances landing on the L2. The Defiant captured the broader trend of accelerating RWA activity on Arbitrum, noting the L2’s TVL climb as issuers began to experiment with wrapping real-world equity and instruments for on-chain trading and custody.
Exodus Movement, the publicly listed U.S. company behind the EXOD ticker, has been a visible example of this tokenization wave. Earlier this summer, the company announced steps to expand its common stock tokens onto multiple blockchains and to make its tokenized shares more widely available, a move that RWA trackers and some market participants say helped kick off fresh interest in Arbitrum’s RWA ecosystem.
RWA-focused dashboards now list EXOD among notable assets contributing to network-level TVL, and Exodus’s own investor pages detail the company’s public filings and token initiatives. The surge in tokenized assets is not happening in a vacuum: broader markets are also moving. ETH, the asset that often underpins activity on Ethereum, has been trading in the mid-thousands and recently drew renewed institutional attention after major banks updated outlooks for the asset class.
Citigroup, for example, raised its year-end ETH target in a note that market watchers interpreted as evidence of growing ETF and treasury demand. Solana and Arbitrum’s native economy have their own micro narratives. SOL has been trading in the low hundreds and has enjoyed renewed developer and stablecoin activity, while ARB is trading at fractions of a dollar but has seen steady onchain activity and renewed liquidity as L2 adoption increases.
Why Does this Matter?
Tokenized RWAs promise to bridge traditional finance and crypto infrastructure: they can unlock liquidity for assets that historically sat illiquid on balance sheets, introduce new kinds of yield-bearing products for DeFi, and expand market access for retail and institutional investors alike. That potential is now visible in numbers: some trackers report total tokenized RWA figures in the mid-to-high billions and, depending on methodology, even higher when related products are included.
Different data providers measure slightly different universes; for instance, RWA.xyz’s broader dataset shows a substantially larger on-chain RWA total than certain DeFi aggregators, but the direction is unanimous: growth. Still, the story is not purely bullish. Tokenized equities raise thorny legal, regulatory and operational questions. How will securities laws apply when shares are represented as tokens on permissionless chains? Which custody and settlement models will institutions accept?
On the technical side, projects will have to ensure robust oracle design, regulatory-compliant KYC/AML flows where required, and clear governance to prevent fractionalization or market fragmentation that could confuse investors. Market participants are already poring over these issues as issuers move from proof-of-concept toward commercial rollouts. Coverage of corporate tokenization programs stresses that while tokenization can lower barriers, it must be implemented with careful compliance guardrails.
Sentora’s tweet captured the present moment well: Ethereum still sits at the top of the leaderboard, but the most interesting moves are happening on the rails below it. Arbitrum’s explosive month, backed by corporate token experiments like Exodus’ and Solana’s steady inroads, makes the next six to twelve months a likely proving ground for whether tokenization will scale beyond pilot programs into mainstream capital markets. For now, the data is clear: more real-world assets are finding their way on-chain, and where they land will shape both technical and regulatory debates for the rest of the year.
