Google LLC, a US multinational tech firm, is going to decrease its staff members by almost 12,000 employees, as per Sundar Pichai (the CEO of the company). The executive mentioned in a blog post that it was a very hard decision to be made by them. He noted that they have sent an email to the US-based employees who are impacted by the decision.

Google CEO Declares Decreasing Staff by up to 12,000 Workers amid Severe Market Conditions

In the case of the rest of the countries, the respective procedure will require some more time because of the native practices and laws. This indicates that a few extremely brilliant employees of the company will be abandoned by the platform. The executive expressed his regret for the respective decision. While keeping in view the future of the platform, he took complete responsibility for the moves that resulted in the current scenario.

He added that during a former couple of years, they have witnessed times when the growth skyrocketed dramatically. To power that advancement, the company appointed several people to reach an economic reality different from what is being experienced at present. Nonetheless, he expressed his confidence regarding the massive growth opportunity awaiting in the future.

In the words of the executive, the firm has a resilient objective to add value to its services and products. As Sundar puts it, Google has already made investments in the AI sector. He considers that the platform will require making some difficult choices to completely achieve its vision. In this way, he added, they have conducted a strict review throughout the product functions and areas.

Company Arranges Compensation and Bonuses for Affected Employees

This was done to guarantee that their employees are operating in line with the top priorities set by the firm. The result of the review is witnessed in the form of staff layoffs. Employee eliminations occur across the entire areas of Alphabet (the parent company of Google). They take into account the operations, products, and regions.

The executive appreciated the leaving employees for their contribution to the businesses and individuals operating across the globe. While discussing the compensation, Sundar noted that the workers will be paid for the complete notification time (60 days at minimum). Apart from that, 2022 bonuses as well as the residual vacation will also be paid by the firm to the impacted employees along with other facilities.
