January was quite a notable month in the crypto space, with several events affecting different performances. The Bitcoin ETF approvals and the wait for an Ethereum one have significantly contributed to this. While several significant altcoins failed to capitalize on the ETF hype, several others took centre stage during the period.
Pyth Network Price Review
PYTH is one example of a token that had a remarkable month, with the altcoin almost doubling in value over the period. The Pyth Network price has recorded an 82% surge over the period, holding a spot price of $0.505 as of press time.
The Pyth Network price pump can be attributed to the new dApp integrations witnessed over the month, the expanded price feeds, additional blockchains and data providers that joined the network. This caused the token to hit new milestones with 128K+ stakers and 275K+ holders, topping it up with a Binance listing.
Sui Price Review
Sui is another example of a token with a remarkable January, as it also almost doubled in value over the period. The Sui price has recorded an 84.5% surge over the period, holding a spot price of $1.5 as of press time.
Sui’s excellent January performance can be attributed to its liquid staking feature. Sui’s TVL grew to an impressive $464.5M as it rose steadily since August 2023.
Manta Price Review
Manta is our third top performer this month, as it also recorded a notable surge over the period. The Manta price has recorded a 21% surge over the period, holding a spot price of $2.75 as of press time.
Manta’s excellent January performance can also be attributed to staking. Manta Network’s TVL has experienced a significant increase in TVL to $429M, surpassing the base on the top Layer 2 protocols.
Celestia Price Review
Celestia (TIA) is our fourth top performer this month, as it also made waves during the period. The Celestia price has recorded an 18% surge over the period, holding a spot price of $16.9 as of press time.
TIA’s excellent January performance can be attributed to its alluring airdrop, which might have drawn investors to the token. The airdrop allows Celestia Stakers to enjoy a 9.92% airdrop now available post-listing.
Ethereum Classic Price Review
Ethereum Classic (ETC) is our last top performer this month, as it also made waves during the period. The Ethereum Classic price has recorded a 27.8% surge over the period, holding a spot price of $25.4 as of press time.
ETC’s excellent January performance can be attributed to the shifting attention towards the hard fork. Hard Forks are when major technical upgrades or changes are made to the network. The Spiral upgrade is a compatibility upgrade, bringing the Ethereum hard fork chain in line with the upstream EVM standards.
